Silver, I know I'm not clenching my teeth because my mouth is usually hanging open and I'm panting more than my dog! I will try to think about my form though. I have not seen the head nodding, I'll have to youtube it!

Didn't run yesterday, but I did go for a long walk with the dog. I wore my sunglasses and even though I had a slight headache before the walk, I was fine the rest of the night. There may be something to this sunglasses business because the other day when I ran half the time I was running directly toward the setting sun and squinting. The only problem with sunglasses is that they fog up when I'm working hard, then the sweat makes them slide off my face!

Mostly OP yesterday except I think I ate too much at dinner (broke my "no seconds" rule). Scale is still low today.

Hi everyone, been out on the boat the last two days. Didn't have time to work out yesterday as we were out so late, but I'm just taking the rest day (er, well, I was kinda banged around on the boat a lot but it was still a rest day from the gym) and going forward. Bootcamp is good so far! When I started 1 1/2 weeks ago I was at 160 lbs, and am down to 155. I know it was mostly water but that water needed to go. My exercise goals and caloric goals are mostly OP, and I've been pleased I've been doing my HIIT runs. I did discover I was messing up the "no grains" this week. I made a big batch of my bean salsa with tuna for lunches, which includes a can of corn. Then I realized, duh, corn is a grain. But I'm not going to dump my whole batch, so I've been grain-free other than a little corn in my lunch. Oops.

Jessica, hmm... maybe try a different running route? Who knows, it could be something environmental.

Yes, midwife, that's sort of what I tell myself too when I'm about to do HIIT. I can do anything for 20 minutes, it's just running, it's not going to kill me.

Hi everyone else, I'll be around more these few days so I hope I'll have more time for personals.

Yesterday was POP. Whoohooo!!!
So that was day #3.

Today is going to be busy. I'm off, which is good, but I have a TON to do around the house. Our dishwasher died this week (2 days after we paid off the refrigerator!! How does that happen? We paid it off before any interest would kick in, and then---tada! Broken dishwasher....Grrrr....dh has tried to fix it, but the dishes come out dirtier than when I put them in....I wash them by hand and usually use the dishwasher to sanitize. Sorry for the rant).

Let's see, in other news around here, we are babysitting my DD's classroom pets: a pair of leopard geckos. I learned a food lesson from one last night. We placed 10 crickets in their aquarium on Wed night and one promptly ate 5 of them. The little one is slower and just ate a couple. So there are a couple of live ones in the tank. One of the crickets kept hopping on and around the bigger gecko. And he totally ignored it. Cause he wasn't hungry. So if he doesn't eat a very available cricket cause he's not hungry, I don't need to eat anything "just because it's there" either. Yay, gecko!

Grain free since Monday and the scale is down 7.5 lbs since Monday morning. Lots of water weight and, um, other weight that spiked the scale Monday morning, but I'll take it. The interesting thing about grain-free is that I don't feel munchy all day. I get hungry, and I eat when I'm hungry (and planned meals) but I don't roam around looking for a bite of this and a bite of that.

Congrats on the loss, Megan! I know a lot of mine has been water too, but you know what? My clothes fit better and I'm hydrated and well-nourished, so I don't care.

My sea robins (umm... they're fish... here) love live grass shrimp. They will eat and eat them until their bellies are bulging. They will sit on the bottom (probably weighed down!) and look like they're panting, they're so full. Occasionally a bit of shrimp will sort of come back out, and they gobble it back down. They don't need to eat for several days after that. I don't think that's the best example for me to follow, though.

Still POP here. I'm getting a little sick of eggs for breakfast so I'm going to try a waldorf salad with yogurt for breakfast. My biggest food challenge this weekend will be Saturday. I'm running around from one thing to the next. After benchpress training first thing, I need to make an appearance at a rib cookoff (though considering skipping it) some friends have entered, and they always give us samples of the delicious yet fatty ribs. Then an afternoon baby shower (assuming there will be cake and other off plan foods). Bf's cousins are in town and we're supposed to have a dinner cookout with them, but I think I will ask BF to inquire about the menu and offer to bring a big salad or something I can fill up on. I think I'll just carry my cooler around and eat out of it all day.

What's everyone else got going on this weekend? Any challenges?

Sometimes I'm not interested in eggs for breakfast. Today was one of those days. I had half of a sweet potato stuffed with roast beef and a slice of pepper jack cheese. It was really good. I'll probably have the same thing, with some wilted spinach, for lunch.

I think I used to be a sea robin....That's so funny!

LOL about the pets guys! Speaking of funny pet eating behaviors, my dog has a funny one too. We put his food in his dish and make him do a trick before he's allowed to eat it. If we forget to make him do a trick, he will lay down in front of his food dish and make grumbly noises or whine at at until we come and tell him it's okay to eat it. Then when he finally decides he's ready to eat, this is what he does:
- puts his nose in the dish and shoves the food around
- uses his nose to shove the dish back a couple feet
- puts his nose in the dish and shoves the food around
- uses his nose to turn the dish 90 degrees and push it into the corner
- puts his nose in the dish and shoves the food around
- removes 1 kibble piece and puts in on the floor
- looks at it to make sure it's okay
- eats the 1 piece he put on the floor, decides it's okay
- chows down on the rest of his food

He does this twice a day, EVERY day. When we used to put his food dish on top of a towel, he would pull the towel around with his teeth and nose to cover up his food, then uncover it, then eat it. What a weird animal.

Great job staying OP guys! My scale is down too, but not 7.5 lbs (go midwife! ). 138.0 this morning, woohoo! Inching gradually, very very slowly, toward my 135 goal.

I have just enough time tonight between getting home and going to the in-law's for BIL's birthday dinner for a run. I'll wear my sunglasses and baseball cap and let you know if I get a headache.

And I had a baked potato for breakfast! My kids think I'm weird with what I'll eat for breakfast. Yet they don't think it's strange to have breakfast for dinner...

Meagan, how about some cottage cheese and fruit for breakfast? I usually mix a spoonful of yogurt into mine for a nicer texture. Love it with strawberries and blueberries, but 1/2 banana and some walnuts work well too! Oh, and I think most people don't count corn when they cut out grains. Count it more as a starchy veg.

Midwife, I find the same thing. Remove the grain, remove the carb cravings. Interestingly, oats don't create the same cravings for me that wheat does. I love sweet potatoes any time of day. And I really like soup on a cold winter morning.

Some of you know that I am doing a six-month program from Precision Nutrition (just starting month 3). I haven't lost a lot of pounds - about 4 - but I have lost a total of 10 inches overall, and most of it where I needed it most - between my ribs and knees! Haven't lost a bit from my neck Not sure I will either. I'm wearing clothes, esp pants, I couldn't get into 6 months ago.

I count corn as a vegetable when it's fresh and as a grain when it's dried. So, corn on the cob is a veggie, but a corn tortilla isn't!

Kitty, big loss!

Now I feel like I'm the only one losing 0.1 lb at a time instead of you folks losing 4.5 or 7.5lbs!

I can (and do) eat breakfast for dinner, but I can't eat dinner for breakfast. I don't know why the thought of eating those foods early in the morning turns me off so much, maybe just because it's what I'm used to. I get kind of grossed out seeing my coworkers drinking soda at 8 in the morning too!
