I sometimes wonder about people that don't have a relationship with Christ. How do they get through tough times?
I have wondered that myself many times; and wondering why they wouldn't want to lean on GOD during those times. I think that some do, and we may not know it. It may be during those tuff times, that they finally turn to the LORD for help and comfort.

It must be hard on you to be so far away from your old friends and congregation too. I sent your name to two more prayer groups, and they have already started sending in replies. Plus, you are in our prayers constantly ...
  • PRAYER REQUEST ~ For DANIS LOUTTIT, 34 y/o ~ Danis is a very sick young lady; she is in the Sudbury, Ontario, Canada hospital after having two heart attacks last week (the doctors believe it was from a blockage). Danis has had severe diabetes since 4 years old, and now has to start dialysis becuz her kidneys are starting to fail. She also has some stomach issue that rejects certain foods (colitis?) Friends have requested prayers for Danis & her husband/family at this time. Thanks partners ...

NELLY ~ ^prayers^ continue for RANDY G, in Texas too; for his therapy, and that his lungs/kidneys will continue to heal.
  • Praying for Danis and her family , a stressful tome for all.
  • Just want to give a word of thanks to our Super Prayer Warrior, Rosebud.
    May God richly bless you.
  • UPDATE ON DANIS Touttit ~ heard today that the doctors put a stent in the blocked valve in Danis' heart, so that should help her a lot for the future. She is still in the hospital though, so she can use more prayers for her health yet. Thanks for your prayers ...

Thanks, BARGOO ~ you're very kind, but there is nothing I love more than to be able to help others in some small way; plus, it takes but only a few minutes, and I can do it from my home. I consider it a mission of service for our LORD too ...

COLLECTIVE PRAYERS ~ during WWII, PM Churchill called for the people of England to pray every night @ 9 PM for their country. Of course, the BBC reaches far beyond England; around the world really. Anyways, sure enough, every night at 9 PM, everyone prayed for the safety of their country, to end the war, and for peace. Years later, German pilots claimed that at 9 PM every night, mysterious, unmarked, white planes would show up in the sky to fight them, and they never succeeded in shooting any of them down. I like to think that they were GOD's Angel planes coming to the rescue ...

So, a local pastor has asked all Christians to pray every night at 9 PM for any concerns that we have for our communities and country, etc. I started praying last night @ 9 PM, as I know some of them are already praying at that time.

I am including prayers for our churches, the economy, our politicians, and our people as well. I also pray for the US economy since it is so close to ours; and for peace for Israel & the middle east, as the bible tells us to. If you feel so inclined, maybe you would like to do the same for your people and country too.

A wonderful idea and I will pray ,also , I will be praying for the leaders of our country as well as our local leaders and Pastors .
  • Fantastic Idea! I will also join in with this prayer.
  • The Collective Prayer idea is an awesome idea-I'll be joining in, also!

I can't believe it's been over a week since I've been here, but the funny thing is that over the days, each one of you has come to my mind at times with just the thought that a prayer was needed. So, as I definitely believe in praying without ceasing, you've all been lifted up.

    Bargoo-you're always in my prayers

I've been so incredibly busy, running and running and running. My sister is not coming to help with Mom following her surgery this week, so I'm trying to get things ready here, so DH and DS3 can manage alone for a couple days. Mom decided to go to a local rehab center (part of a nursing home) for the week after she's released from the hospital, so it will be easier to have the PT and blood monitoring (for the blood thinner she'll be on). We visited the place yesterday and she thinks it'll work out ok. Of course, we're working on a back-up plan just in case, which will probably simply involve me staying with her at her home if she can't tolerate the nursing home, due to the allergy issues.

I've also made her 2 hospital gowns (100% cotton) and hemmed 3 pairs of PJ pants (she's only 4'10") so she'll have plenty of loose clothing to wear in hospital, rehab, and therapy.

So, just keep her in your prayers Tuesday that the surgery goes well and she heals up quickly. Her name's June if that helps.

I really appreciate all of you so much and your prayers and support. Have a good evening, everyone!
  • ronni. I will be praying for your Mom and you , also, that you will have strength as you carry this heavy load.

    amen to this!
Randy update I found out he was moved out of ICU last Friday ! He is healing well.....I THINK dialysis has been stopped and not sure on the ventilator. Getting specifics hasn't been easy. They are starting to talk about moving him to a rehab center, guess that hasn't happened yet. Praising God for the good report, and praying for a speedy recovery. He was admitted to the hospital Feb 18th, time to get out!

Another prayer request....sorry about all the requests....but....my Mother in Law Elsie, was diagnosed with breast cancer. All 20 lymph nodes they removed had cancer. Since I am the nearest female relative, I have been asked to go to her apt tomorrow to help get the treatment options and questions answered straight and pass the info on to the rest of the family. Although this is a great idea, I have become increasingly nervous. I expect the news to be bad from what I have read on line. I am concerned about her future, and I want her to make an informed decision about her treatment choice. She is 82 years old, but in pretty good health and still living an active life...for her age ... with a walker and some health issues that are controlled.

??? and I am not getting my email notices any more. I have not changed anything except I have not had time to check in here very often. Do they stop if you stop posting/visiting this site?
  • auntNelly, I am in treatment for breast cancer, now. The treatments they have today are far different from those in the past. Listen to what the Doctor's say, take notes so you know what to tell other family members. The best advice I ever recieved was to do what the Doctor's tell you. I trust my doctors and I hope your MIL does , too, if not she should get a different doctor.I will be praying that she will have a positive outcome to this.
  • Bargoo thanks for that, I appreciate you answering about this. I have read how serious your situation is. Praying God's healing touch is strong in your life.

We all think that MIL will probably choose quality of life, and not endure too much if the treatments will be too difficult. This is all still swirling around in my mind....
  • THANKS, NELLIE ~ ^prayers^ continue for RANDY G in Texas; your MIL, ELSIE; and for yourself during this time. Great advice from BARGOO too.

RONNIE ~ ^prayers^ on the way for your mother, JUNE; for her hip surgery tomorrow -- that all goes perfectly well for her & the doctors; and for a quick recovery.

BARGOO ~ ^prayers^ continue for peace & comfort & healing over the next while as you continue your treatments. Helpful advice for Nelly.

Glad you are all in for the Collective Prayers at 9 PM each night; let's storm the gates of heaven with lots and lots of prayers.
  • PRAYER REQUEST: for OMER LEFEBVRE ~ a good friend of DH's has been in a coma in the hospital for 2 weeks now. Today, a relative told DH that his friend is very ill; and may or may not live very long (they just don't know). So of course, DH is very upset. We still don't know what it is or where he is, but GOD does. Thanks ...

UPDATED ~ I was just talking to a relative who said that OMER is in a coma from blood poisoning from a perferated colon. It was operated on successfully, but the toxins caused him to go into a coma. So we continue to pray for him; for GOD's will -- and if the toxins can clear, he may come out of it yet. Omer is in the Timmin's District Hospital (Ontario, Canada); and his wife, MARGUERITE, is by his side. Prayers for the family are appreciated too ... thanks again.

Mom is out of surgery and in her room. Doc said the hip replacement was a very complex fix, due to the severity of the deterioration, but that it went well. She's resting and doing ok-no pain at this time. Now, tomorrow, next step is physical therapy. Keeping an eye on everything so we can avoid as much allergen exposure as possible, so may be staying in her room with her tonight.

    Thanks for praying!
