Crock - I KNEW that you were single, so I have NO idea why I asked about a 'hubby' riding with you. Perhaps because you said that "Mandy and Austin rode with US" and I had a brain freeze and pictured the US as a couple, not just US as in a group of people. Sorry about that. Four-wheeling would be FUN! And a lot safer than bikes I would imagine. Although we do hear of accidents around here, but it is mostly young kids being allowed to go 'wild' in the back-woods.
I'm glad you had people to help with the event. At least that meant that you could enjoy yourself too. There is nothing worse than being so involved in the organisation that you don't have time to appreciate the happenings.
Sharon – It sounds as though you had a perfect weekend all-round with your parents. You got to see family, the boys got to spend time with their grandparents, but you and Steve also got to spend some time together. I was going to say ‘alone’ time together, but that just didn’t quite sound right.
Oh dear, sorry to hear about TOM visiting while you were away. Maybe I should go visiting so that TOM will come. I haven’t had a period for a while now. My gyno thinks that I could be perimenopausal, which will make my hormones mess around a little, but I can’t have the blood test for that until I get a period, so it is a bit of a catch 22 at the moment.
Yes, definitely get Steve to get organised with the pics. I would LOVE to see them.
Rkrs – I’m glad you found a ‘before’ pic of yourself. I never really thought about WANTING one before, but now I have something to look at remember just HOW big I got. I never really ‘saw’ myself as big as I actually was. Maybe I needed more people taking photos of me and waving them in front of my face to kick me into gear to lose weight. Mind you, I still don’t think that would have made any difference. I had to be ‘ready’, so I probably would have just looked at the pics and told myself it was a BAD photo. I kinda got good at that.
TEN dress sizes smaller!!!!! That is wonderful! What a thrill to take in a smaller size and find out that it was STILL too big. Have you been walking around with the tag hanging out? I would love to do that. When I got into my first size 12 (US 10 I think) top I stuck the label on the fridge, so I could smile at it every time I walked by. I have NEVER worn an adult size 12. Now I would just like my size 14 BUTT to catch up with my top half.
Misti – I hope you found time to relax in the pool. That would be good for your sore body too, as it takes the pressure off. I have been considering trying out swimming lately, but I really have too much ‘loose’ skin to look good in bathers (a swimming costume – not sure if you guys call them bathers over there) and I have heard that our local public pool won’t let you wear shorts and shirts in the pool. I may call and check just WHAT is allowed to see if I can modify something like I have seen people mention in here. A lot of bathers now cover up more than the normal bathers, so I may get away with a little more being covered. I used to enjoy swimming, but don’t know how I would go with not having been in a pool for a LONG time.
I hope your injuries from the fall are getting better all the time. Did you fall on any particular part of your body? When I tripped, my right knee took all of my weight when I landed. My back jarred as well, but my knee was the worst part.
Ammi – Great to see you back, and to hear that Daren is a little better. I will write more soon.
I have to dash now as I need to get ready for heading into the city. I'll catch up with the rest of the replies this afternoon.
Catch you all really soon.
Take care,
Zelma
