  • Casey, I hope your husband's surgery was not serious and that he is recovering nicely. Hugs to you.

    Jayde
  • No, no...nothing serious!

It was an old injury from rodeo...his shoulder was dislocated years ago and lately it would just pop out at crazy times...like when he was just reaching for something. So it had to be repaired. It was just a day surgery and hopefully in two weeks he'll get the okay to start using it again. He is pretty cranky right now since he is in pain and can't sleep but other than that he is doing quite well.

Thanks for your concern. I tell him that his recovery is going to be harder on me than him since I have to put up with him!

    Casey
  • Not serious?. A rodeo injury sounds serious to me. What doesn't sound strange is his crankiness and it being harder on you. Yup.. I understand. Yup I do.

My house guests are gone. I really tried my best to keep good habits but I've picked up a couple of bad ones... I've got a pantry full of chips and a frig full of homemade cake and a freezer with 2 gallons of icecream. Most of it is going in the trash tomorrow morning as soon as honey and my son have left for the day. I know where it will end up if I don't destroy it. Where it is already starting to go.. yup.. I had some more today.

I'm in need of some serious shakin' and butt kickin'.
  • Oh I fall into that trap of having junk in the house "for guests". Good for you for getting rid of it. I wold probably get rid of it by eating it!
  • ok Casey... it's been about a week since you popped your head in...

I hope everything is going well with you. Especially hope your husband has recovered from surgery. If you don't come by soon I'm sending out a search party.

You are taking care of you, aren't you? Gonna be some major butt kicking if you aren't.
  • All is well! I just lost my computer for a bit...or rather my internet service!

DH...so crabby its not even funny. I'm trying to cut him some slack. Mostly I just want to kick him though.

I probably need a bit of a butt kicking...we went to McDonald's today...and I usually do quite well with the chicken wraps or something like that that might be a bit high in calories but not too bad...well today I was so hungry I ordered fries too. I only ordered a small but they gave me a large and somehow I ended up eating most of them. Which is especially crazy since they weren't even tasting that good! So...now I really, really know the importance of having good snacks on hand (ate a good breakfast but then we were running errands all over the place and didn't eat again til 3:30). I really need to start carrying a purse or a backpack or something.

I am trying to just get over it though...I think I'll just do an extra jaunt on the elliptical tonight and call it good. Maybe eat less tomorrow.
  • So glad you are fine. I was about ready to round up a posse.
Don't kick your dear honey. "They" can't help it sometimes.

An extra jaunt on the eliptical (sp?) will make you feel better. But next time "BACK AWAY FROM THE FRIES!"
  • "BACK AWAY FROM THE FRIES" LOL...thats *exactly* what I needed to hear! Said in a booming megaphone voice of course....that and "BACK AWAY FROM THE OREOS" and maybe "GO DO THE DISHES!" LOL.
  • AND THE OREOS!!!!
  • A friend gave me two pieces of Baker's Square peanut-butter cup pie the other day ... "for my son". It really was for him, but Number One Son isn't the sugar freak I am, and when the pie sat there more than two days I asked him if he was interested. He said he just hasn't been "in a sugar mood lately". Man, I wish I could muster up that mentality! Of course, I worked them into my daily diet. Luckily it was only 2 pieces. So ... no more pie donations. Period!
  • Oh thats the worst...my Mom sends cookies a lot. Ginger snaps are my favourite. And she just gave me a recipe for strawberrry rhubarb pie thats just amazing that I've been wanting to make...I've put it off though because I know I would eat half the thing myself. My husband is the same way with the sweet tooth...he can resist anything.
