DaVinci Code was great! I just finished it a couple of weeks ago and couldn't shut up about it to my husband the whole time I was reading it...

Ooooo the DaVinci Code was amazing! I have the illustrated version, and it was great to see everything that they were talking about. I purchased Angels and Demons, also by Dan Brown, and I was advised to take a break between Davinci and angels and demons. So... i'm taking a break before I read it. Right now I'm reading A Million Little Pieces. Lol I know I know i know i'm gonna get flack for the whole james frey fiasco, but I think it's an amazing book, and I'm sooooo glad to be reading it.

Haven't finished Forever Odd yet. He's in the Panamint at this point for me. Don't get a lot of reading time these days with the baby. Used to I'd blow through a book in a week. I've been reading this one for over a month. But then, we were also in the middle of moving and that slowed me down too.

I'd highly suggest reading Odd Thomas. While you can get through the second one without it, the first is still a great book and might answer some questions about this Stormy that he's so often talking about. You might get some more insight into Elvis too.

Another good one...or couple...I'd suggest trying is the two already out in the Dean Koontz Frankenstein series. This is not the Frankenstein you know, but it is. And I won't say more than that. LOL It's very good. The third, and final, is due out this summer. So now would be a good time to start the first two.

I liked The DaVinci Code, but frankly don't even recall much of Angels and Demons. It simply wasn't as good as the first IMHO.

Just saw the "geek" posts. LOL I think I'm a bigger geek. I have 155 Star Trek books. My favorite (if you like ST and are familiar with Lawaxna and Q and like comedy) is Q -n- Law. If you can find it...it's a riot.

That Outlander sounds like something I'd love reading. Oooh, wish I had the time. Six books? Yikes!

Almost Heaven - I didn't read a lot of Star Trek books as Star Wars took up so much of my time, but I always tried to catch any of the "Q" books. It seems funny now but I adore John DeLancie as that character. Though I think my all time favorite Trek book is Imzadi. Well, I'm still a sucker for love, I guess!

I'll find a copy of Odd Thomas. The mentions he made of those events were very intriguing.

Also, over the years I worked in the book store, Dan Brown didn't hold a lot of interest for me in general. DaVinci Code may have been something of a "breakout" book for him, but the rest of his stuff may not have as much pull for most of us. Not that he's not good, just that I'm not interested, if you know what I mean...

Just remembered another two books Ive been wanting to read, The life and Times of Wicked. And the Son of Wicked.

My sister just read The life and times of wicked...she loved it!!!

I am currently reading "Marley and Me"--I am on chapter 2 and for all you dog lovers or those who had a dog when growin up you will absolutely LOVE IT...it brings back sooo many great feelings, and some sad ones to ( for those who lost a pet)...I can't wait until I can pick it up again!

I finished Wicked a few months back and had to read Son of a Witch soon after. Both books are really good - perhaps different than other books that I have read - but i really enjoyed them both! I just finished Angry Housewives eating Bon Bons, it is a quick read about a group of women who form a book club and lifelong friendships. Pick that one up if you are in the mood for a "not too serious" read.

I was born in OH actually, but raised in the Charleston area. Now living in Huntington. Just moved back here from VA Beach.

I've started a couple of new books this week. Yesterday I started one called Solstice Wood by Patricia A. McKillip. She's a fantasy author a friend of mine is pretty fond of, so I snagged it when i saw it at the library. It's set in the real world but with ghosty and fey-folk elements. I'm only a couple of chapters in but it is already getting interesting and McKillip's writing is amazing. She writes beautiful sentences.

At some point I also started A Short History of Everything by Bill Bryson. He usually does linguistics and travel books, but he's interested in everything, really, so he decided to ask a lot of layman type questions of many, many scientists to try to explain things to non-science people. So far I've only gotten through the introduction, though. Hehehehe.... being a linguist, he does ramble on a bit!

Fitgal, I'm glad to hear that "Marley & Me" is good! I have it on my shelf, I'm just finishing up something else - "A Confederacy of Dunces" (I had to re-read it, I love it!!) I'll be starting it this weekend.

Ooh - I love Q. I love TNG but have never read any of the books.

Outlander is definitely on my list, but haven't gotten to it yet.

I have read several Patricia A. McKillip books (none recently though) and have always liked her. For fantasy, I am looking forward to reading Shaman's Crossing by Robin Hobb. It is a fairly new series - I loved her previous three series. I also really like Anne Bishop (Black Jewels trilogy, etc) and have a few books by her that I haven't made it to yet.

Right now I am in the middle of 3 series - the Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian, The Amelia Peabody Series by Elizabeth Peters, and the Richard Sharpe series by Bernard Cornwell. I also have a few non-fiction on my shelf in queue - Freakonomics and Guns, Germs and Steel. I just can't find enough time to read recently!
