Peel or no peel - they get mushy in the freezer. A frozen, overripe banana will never resemble a fresh banana again, but they *are* great for baking. If you freeze a fresh banana (peeled), they are great plain for dessert or with crushed pineapple, strawberry and the fixings for a banana split. You'll never miss the ice cream! They're creamy like a popsicle - yum!

Mangos are really good, too. Also, try some dates and figs. Dried fruit but really great for snacking and they last forever so you don't have to worry about them going bad on you. I bought a ring of figs the other day and they are good until December! So I can nibble my way through them all year. Very high in fiber and because they are chewy, they make you feel more satisfied when you're finished.

Congrats on the will power, I know where you are coming from, We buy donuts for Sunday mornings and I have had up to 3. I love fruit also. Have you tried Papaya, baby bananas, Blackberries, Asian pears, guava, ? I love papaya. When I can't get fresh fruit, I buy canned , I figure anything is better to snack on then junk. Of course I dump out the juice,and when there is light canned fruit I buy that. Keep up the good work!

One thing about bananas... if you put them in the refrigerator the PEEL will turn black but the actual banana will stay firm a lot longer and not turn dark.

Frozen fruit is good to snack on too... I love frozen peaches!!!

Yes, do try Papaya! It's good and it is known for cleaning out your system.

I love pineapples, but when I get one, I have to get two because my kids eat a whole one by themselves! Im already making a list of the fruit to get next week hehe. Im actually liking eating fruit. Ive NEVER been a fruit person, or a veggie person for that matter.

It's great that your kids eat such healthy food though!!! And I know exactly what you mean... I actually prefer fruit and veggies now and can't imagine eating junk!!

Manelos? Mandarins? I don't know... they're small and have the same type of skin as an orange and they taste like an orange only way better. Pretty much they're one of the best fruits ever, lol.

I googled dragon fruit and it looked strange... LOL reminded me of some of the fruit we had in the Philippines! Some of which was very good and some of which was very strange to this American's tastes LOL
