I know what you mean Shrinking....

My feet go through **** everytime I get a new pair of shoes, especially trainers. No matter haow many plasters I put on, the shoes find a bit of naked flesh to rub. The shoes I have got on now from Evans - loafer type- are the comfiest ever.

I have also got sensitive feet on the bottoms of my feet. For this reason I cannot take very warm baths or showers. My feet throb in heels and I cannot walk well in them either.

I have always wanted a pair of nice boots but due to fat feet and fat calves, never even bothered trying any on. Its the middle of summer here or I would order a pair right now as they have some really nice looking boots. If my calves are still too big by winter, I will definatley be ordering some tho They seem to ship to alot of countries so could be useful to some of you

About shoes - I take a size 5 in length but have to get a 6 because my feet are so wide. I virtually live in trainers but I have got one pair of heels for special occasions and a couple of pairs of boots for wearing with trousers - but that is more to do with my lifestyle rather than comfort. I find that its what I wear directly on my feet that I have to be careful with. My feet really throb and the soles feel sore if I wear socks too small or with any synthetic fibre in then, even just a little bit so I only wear cotton socks. I can't wear tights (or stockings) at all - they are guaranteed to make my feet sore within 10 minutes.

Its odd, this never occurred to me before! I don't remember having this problem when I was slim!

The new shoe tailor ones actually fit me. But the bizarre thing is that they don't fit my mum and she is normally smaller than me.

I also have the problem with wide calf boots its a pain to get them and I'm not really that overweight so I just don't know how alot of people manage. Surely theres this huge gap in the market that people are ignoring maybe we should set up a shoe store.

I got these gorgeous wide calf boots off ebay and they fit great I can even wear them over jeans or under jeans so am really pleased with them but you have to look out for about 6 months to find something decent. Lace up ones are quite fashionable at the moment which might be good for some of you that can afford to buy them new. Debenhams have some gorgous lace up ones I was coveting them the other day but the budget won't run to it unfortunately.

I too have ordered shoes over the internet that were advertised as wide--but still didn't fit when they came. Paying return postage and a restocking fee is for the birds. I found this site zappos.com where return postage is free and easy! I LOVE THIS SITE. NOW--the shoes are a bit pricey---but I was at the point where I didn't care---I walk in heels all day--just give me a pair that don't kill my feet! You can search/sort by many fields: heel height, width (they carry REALLY wide shoes), color style. What I really like about it is the reviews customers write. You can tell whether the shoe is true-to-fit or not--whether it's comfortablem, if it held up etc. I have ordered shoes and had to return them---no problems whatsoever. I love them! I know they have boots for wide calves too. When I see women on the street with wide feet--I so much want to just TELL them---Hey--have you checked out Zappos? Have fun ladies. Once you shop there--you'll never go anywhere else! They ought to give me a commission check for this!

Zappos looks great, but they don't mail to the UK, only within the US and to Us Force addresses.

I just wanted to share with you my lovely shoedom. Evans have been trialling size 3s but they hadn't sold them so they were majorly in the sale. I just got chocolate brown knee highs for £15 and black ankle boots for £10 yay!!

Cheap coats in the evans sale at the mo too, £15 macs etc.

my pointy ankle boots are really sexy I love them, you know you like them when you get them out of the box just to look at them lol

They had some really nice flats for £10 too but they didn't have any in my size, and they had some really nice skirts for £7

I bought new trainers and boots on Saturday and I'd gone up a size from a 7 to an 8

How does that work? has the fat from my arse slid down to my feet?

That's just strange. I'm still not having much luck with getting my feet smaller

lol my feet seem to be shrinking but they were never fat just wide although I did have chubby ankles at one stage how random

My ankles are definitely thinner, even my deformed one. The only problem with that is that apparently if it gets too thin I might start to see the screws and plates that hold it together because they'd be closer to the surface. Eek!

I broke it three years ago and had to have it pinned back together. They warned me at the time that if I lost weight they might show once they weren't covered by a layer of fat. I don't think until that point I realised I had a thick layer of fat on my ankles...
