  • Hey wormtown--that sounds like....um....Starbucks on that 400 cal "coffee"?? I usually end up detoothing mine, but still being pretty happy with it (unfortunately, mochas may be only a rare treat now), but a skinny (nonfat), sugarfree tall vanilla latte (or pick your flavor, just make is SF) should come in at about 90 calories. Basically, it's a cup of nonfat milk (with caffeine and flavorings!). I actually have this fairly often as my mid-morning "snack" between 9:30 and 10. It keeps me going with the little social thing here at work (we have a Starbucks-like cafe in the building), plus the protein in the milk tamps down my hunger until lunchtime.

I had to cry when I saw the nutritional (not) info on chantico
  • Well I have been following the Calorie Queens plan for several weeks now. I use Calorie King to track my calories. For me to weigh 135 I need to eat 1600 cals a day..its my choice if I do or not. I actually aim for 1500 so I can have one night a week of wine and a richer meal.
Anyway this past week with holiday parties..I averaged 1850 cals per day. So its 250 more than what I am allotted..still if I wasnt watching I cant imagine where I could have gone.
I love this plan cus you either do it..or you dont..
    Real clear and simple.
The extra key to me is to eat protein so I stay in control.
I am really mindful of what I am eating.
  • This doesn't seem like any new or novel information to me. Count your calories--people have been saying that all along. Find an amount you can stick with and don't go too low--same idea. I was thinking about getting the book, but after reading some posts here, I'm not sure I'll waste my money. Maybe if I were kinda clueless about calories and whatnot, I would give it a whirl, but it seems more like common sense to me (and I don't like to pay for common sense ).
  • I'm about halfway through this book today and I LOVE it! Jackie is so warm and humorous. I plan to toss out all my other stupid diet books with plans that I couldn't stick to for longer than a week. I am going to be a Calorie Queen forever.
