  • Hemp protein powder is high fiber, high protein AND low fat. It's a nearly perfect food!

Soy (tofu, yogurt, powder, "meats" etc.) are high protein and low fat. I eat beans (I know you wanted some besides beans ) and LOTS of lentils.

Don't overlook the protein found in foods you eat everyday...calorie for calorie, broccoli has more protein than animal flesh for instance!
  • I've heard that before about the animal flesh and broccoli ... I don't understand it. According to fitday.com 221 cals of chicken breast has twice as much protein as 222 cals of broccoli and the equivalent in roasted beef is about 20% more and pork tenderloin is about a third again more and salmon is too. I wonder where that broccoli thing comes from.

I wonder where that broccoli thing comes from.

It's the percentage of calories as protein...Some charts vary, but the chart I have says for instance, broccoli is 45% and for beef it's 31%. This is what was told to me by doctors/nutritionists as well.
