  • AH!!!! WAR EAGLE, sista!!! My dad graduated from Auburn, which of course ensured that I would be a Tiger baby from the moment of conception, lmao. I really think my sister and I truly bleed Auburn orange and blue. I'm here at the university getting my Masters in English Lit., starting my second year.

And I cannot wait for the game on Saturday! I am so pissed off at Tech for the last time we played them (personal reasons--they were really cruel to the AU marching band of which my sister was a member), so I can't wait to bury them in The Jungle. You're gonna watch the game on TV, right?

...and sure...this is on topic...uhm...*thinks* Ah! When I go to my personal trainer this morning, I'll get myself measured! I know I've lost inches because of the way my clothes are fitting--I just want to get some numbers out there.
  • We were supposed to be at the game this weekend but b/c of Katrina we cannot get there. We have season tickets through my hubbie's family. We used to go to every game. I hate being away from it. We went last year to the Sugar Bowl...ironically enough, in New Orleans. I'm pretty sure DH's blood runs blue and orange as well. His parents also graduated from AU and I agree about TECH....TIGER MEAT!!! So you go to a trainer also? I see mine twice a week, but he doesn't do measurements for me...just fat testing. What all do you and your trainer do? Weight training? Has it helped you a lot? I think it really helps me with accountability. I know some days I don't feel like going, but I have a session with him and I will not cancel on him. So cool that we have so much in common!!
  • Haha! Tiger Meat! I'm a little disappointed because I'll miss the Wreck Tech parade tomorrow night (I'm going to Atlanta for a Shakespeare play), but I'll be there in spirit, haha. And I'm sorry you can't be there Saturday! That really sucks. But maybe next weekend, hm?

And yeah! I love my trainer! She's amazing. I work out at an all women's gym (because I'm really shy around guys, lol). We do weight training mostly, but she prescribes particular cardio exercises for every day (so I'm doing something cardio related for at least half an hour a day). I see her twice a week for weight training, but I'll go in at least once more on my own to do my own weight training, using our general routine as a guide. She measures me once every three months which is also when we do the fat percentage stuff.

I started out in January with the personal trainer with the same attitude as you have. I needed to be accountable and I'm not one to cancel appointments once I've made a commitment. Yet when I started WW, I made this shift; I started going to the gym because I wanted to be there for me. Working out with my trainer was a really great perk. And to be honest, I've been seeing some amazing results and in such little time and what feels like almost no effort (though I do know I work my butt off all the time...it just doesn't feel like drudgery).
