  • Quote: My husband doesn't believe that walking and diet will lead to weight loss. He believes that I need to be in aerobics class. Does someone have an article they know of that proves him wrong?

Honestly - this statement is just so wrong "My husband doesn't believe that walking and diet will lead to weight loss."

My suggestion would have to be - get a new husband
  • I've had two husbands and this is what I've learned:

Men think they are so smart and yet they are almost always WRONG!

There's some kind of insect in their brains that tells them that they have the goods on everything. I say "Stomp on that insect!"

Without belittling men further (although I so easily could!) That's just ridiculous. First of all, you can lose weight WITHOUT exercise (technically although it takes longer and I don't recommend it). All you do is expend more calories than you consume. Obviously walking burns energy....heck...sleeping does that!! Secondly, if you walk briskly enough to get up your heartrate and sustain it....that's aerobic. You must consume 3500 more calories than you burn to gain a pound. Transversely, you must burn 3500 more calories than you consume to lose a pound....period...that's all...end of story...Does high impact cardio burn more calories faster...yes. Can you lose weight by 'just' walking....YES!!
  • So Lisa, inquiry minds wanna know... DID you prove your husband wrong by walking?
