I don't need exotic cold food. It's cold here. I need soup. It's supposed to rain this weekend, just when DH wanted to cut hay. It's been so cold and rainy this is more like May than almost July.

The almost accident was mostly scarey because it was between me and a pedestrian. I have a blind spot to my left caused by glaucoma. I usually kind of scan an intersection left to right because I'm aware of my problem. I guess I got in a hurry and wasn't careful enough and I just did not see a young man as I was turning into the intersection until he popped into my field of vision. I just missed him. It shook me up. At what point do they come and take away my driver's license?

Time for lunch. I will drive very carefully to go get something. seeya

Mere minutes ago a container of yogurt feel out of my fridge onto the floor with a big splat and covered everything in a big sticky mess. Sitting at the computer is part of my avoidance strategy. If I ignore it, it will go away, right? Ha, fooled ya! I already cleaned it up. So there's like one sparkling clean spot on the kitchen floor and the rest is a pig pen. Ooof.

It's still hot here. Which Americans are arriving in SJ, Bagz? Is it a cruise ship? I wish I was going there. Instead of contemplating another round of sweat-drenched boat cleaning. Today I have to tackle the galley (that's kitchen to you landlubbers). I'm thinking of bringing a big plastic tub up there and emptying out all the shelves and lockers of dishes and stuff and just lowering it to the ground and running it all through the dishwasher. That way I can swab out the empty galley without moving things more than once. I'd rather write about it than do it. I'm getting sweaty just thinking about it.

By the way, I'm very impressed with your technological progress, Peach. I would like to do such a thing so I could do an exercise video and watch tv at the same time, but the logistics just don't work here. Hey, I'm getting all my old email, it looks like! There are numerous messages from you.

today's yankees were from new york,flarrider and maryland-----some from the boat,some driving---all very friendly and nice---one family ate at the restaurant my dd works at,liked her earrings and she sent them to the shop and they bought a pair=-----i sell silver wine glass,champagne glass,martin,cosmo and marguerita earrings---they have a crystal in them for sparkle!!!!! coooooooooooool!!! it is still cold here kiwonk-----the flarrider people LOVED the fog----it was 12 degrees this morning and i think we are up to 16 now=-=================I HATE IT---TWENTY MINUTES UP RIVER IT'S 30.

Went to the eye doctor for regular glaucoma check. He's sending me to another eye doctor for dry eye syndrome. They think they will put plugs in my tear ducts. Anyone hear of this? My life seems to be just one "procedure" after another. I keep hoping I'm going to get caught up on the fixes before something else breaks down.

Which reminds me --- our other child, Grandpa Jim is on his way to visit sil in Arizona. He broke down in Utah. Had to wire him $1000 to fix his car. This, plus the $300 we gave him before the trip. He has 8 children. He calls us. Should we feel honored????

DS & gf have decided to go the marriage pre-baby at the courthouse routine, with an actual wedding after the baby. I told them marriage is important - big weddings are optional, especially with all the expenses they'll have buying a house and setting up for baby. They are still giddy about it. GF has gone to her first pre natal appt, so far so good.

It is supposed to hit 100 tomorrow. I am going to stay inside and clean my desk. and read yet another book on how to get clients... Or maybe I will draw sheep. I think the cute ones are all in Massachusetts... there are only dusty gray ones here... and I have a hard time "making up" landscapes.

I used to have dry eye sometimes (according to my first ophthamologist and contact lens fitter.) but they never plugged anything up. The MD is the guy who tried to start a sperm bank with "genius sperm." Weird idea, but neat doctor.

I would like to have a deep conversation with some of that genius sperm. I long for stimulating thought.

But there is/was a genius sperm bank. The brightest of those kids, maybe, lived in LA. Very tall IQ and was in the paper a lot. Mom said she wouldn't get involved with a man who didn't court her son, too. Bring them both flowers. They actually ran a spread of pictures of offspring of that sperm bank and I thought quite a few of them resembled one another. Straight blond hair kind of kids.

Okay, that doesn't make any sense to me -- cure dry eye by plugging up tear ducts? Strange. Good luck, I hope it's nothing painful.

Bummer about the cold weather, Bagz. And bummer about the hot weather, Painty. It's starting to get much cooler here too, at least at night. Still so humid that it's clammy when it cools off -- humidity's not usually too bad here. Oh well, more sweating ahead of me -- I have a couple of hours of work in the boat and then it sails off down to the coast, carrying DH with it. I will be free of obligations starting about 3:00 this afternoon, so I guess I'd better buckle down and finish this cr*p. I agree that everything outside these 4 walls is the He's responsibility, but I can't seem to shake off some of these chores no matter hard I try. I did weasel out of doing an "inventory" of the contents of the boat by being difficult so I don't want to push it.

So it's too cold at Bagzie's, and too hot at Kiwi's and Painty's. Well at Wabby's it's just right. It's sunny and 78 degrees (25.55 celcius). No humidity. Light breeze. DH is baling hay tonight. I am free of obligations. I may just play in the garden tonight. It needs some deadheading.

Sadly I can only think of a few different ways to enjoy my free night -- hanging out on the 'puter, or watching TV, or maybe reading. I just remembered that The Mermaid Chair was due back yesterday and I haven't finished it. That's what I should do. I wish I had something truly decadent to eat. Hmmm I could get out that chocolate mint cake I have in the freezer. Slap my hand, will you?
