  • Hello,

I am new to your forum. I used to post at Prevention, but our group slowly deteriorated. I am from Michigan, 5'2 and have been on sbd for almost 5 months. I have lost 25 lbs to date. I would like to reach my goal weight by March. I hope it is reasonable considering the weightloss history so far. Can you share a little about yourselves with me so that I can jot you down and sort you guys out better? Who has been at this forum the longest? About how many people are usually posting every day? I am excited to be here, to get some new ideas and tips. Thanks for having me.
  • Welcome again, Julia!
I've just "stickied" our bio thread, and it is here:

We'd love to hear a little about you, too!

    Back in a mo...
  • Thanks, Ellis. I posted my bio and I 'll start to learn about you guys from the thread. Whoo, I've got some catching up to do!
  • Barb, congratulations on the half pound down! Anyone who can lose weight at this time of year is to be admired!!
How do you do the license thingys in the States? Ours expire on our birthdays...

Amy, thanks for the review on those plug in things! We can't have them at home because the kids have guinea pigs (ouch!), but I was considering getting one for the cottage. The mice are so destructive up there. If they work, I'm getting one!

Ruth, you have to take the treadmill OUT OF THE BOX!!

No snow, RNMom! What will happen to the potatoes? (do you grow anything else out there?) NOT that we EAT potatoes here on South Beach. (my personal favourite vegetable)

Bunna, I haven't tried my meatball recipe yet. I'm not sure who originally posted it... ... maybe I'll make it for dinner tomorrow night.
I'm with you re: the sticky traps. (Barb, have you ever seen one "caught" at work? shudder. We used them once, and never again. If I'm going to kill something, I prefer the quick and painless method. ) Those things should be illegal.
Take care of that cold, hon!

Julia, I'm a SAHM, too! How old are your kids/kid? Mine are 15 and almost 9, and it's very important to me that I NOT take a job away from someone who really needs it. Well, that's my excuse for being a Stay At Home Princess.
  • Ah... 8 and 4, Julia?
  • Oh Ellis me to I would hate to take a job from someone who really needs it! teehee

Well my shoppin day is over..... and I am exhausted! We went to the Botanical Gardens to see the lights as well. Thank goodness it's a drive thru! We ate lunch/supper at The Longhorn! I love that place. I thought about you Ruth! Well I gotta run again. DH stayed home so he needs supper. (UGH!) haha
I'll be glad when everyone goes back to work and school! haha
  • Ellis - we have Lucky the hamster - maybe that explains a lot No he really is OK!

Bunna - I REALLY REALLY don't like spiders. We had great big wolfies on the lake - yucko! Just be prepared that when you install the device and run it for 24 hours they all come out! Out on the ceiling, floors, everywhere - they have to come out from the walls because of the noise. The story about the Christmas dress is hilarious.

Ms. Julia - Welcome, pull up a beach chair and chat! I'm from Michigan too!

Bami - I wish they had an icon of someone who is missing you these past couple of weeks - not the same without you!

Barb - I'm with Ellis - anyone who lost any weight last week deserves a Go go girl! Oh by the way last night was the first night with my bite splint. Now if that isn't sexy I don't know what is.

solarmama - I happen to like the overnight slaw for breakfast along with the mini quiches. I may be the only one who feels that way but the overnight slaw gives me the sweetness that I'm craving in the morning. Actually I've been doing the overnight slaw, a shake, and a cheese stick.
  • Bamie, I can't wait until next week, too! Not that my kids are driving me crazy or anything... I just want to be alone!

Solar... beware... you may not like those quiche cups! They're very ummm... spinachy!

Amy, the mice are having a party in here. I've removed their food source (a bag of nuts), but I think they're still full, and haven't started in on the poison yet.
  • Hi Ellis
I just wanted to wish you a Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
  • Tea Rose... thank you! I wish you the same, sweetie.
