Hi Brit
After a peculiar day, a peculiar party.......First of all, most of the adults invited cried off, including my Mum and Dad 'cos Dad was poorly, they've been to our bonfires ever since they moved up here, over 10 years ago. Then i stood and watched as car after car drew up, disgorging various teenagers, mostly unknown

. Forewarned was forearmed, and after an unplanned gathering last week, I made sure I knew who was who - and who invited them(!), didn't have a drop to drink myself, and made sure both me and hubby (also sober) were a visible presence, checking the various groups. However, by 9.00 we had one drunken casualty, who was very sick over my son's bed (serves him right for inviting so many!) and had to be fetched by his mother. That put a stop to the fireworks, we now have a cupboard full and no stuff left for a bonfire to go with

Otherwise, they were quite well behaved and considerate, and mostly crashed out by 3am. The (live) body count in the morning was considerably higher than last week, and large gatherings are hereby BANNED

! Did I say stress usually makes me comfort eat????? I may not have drunk anything, but consumed more than enough marshmallows, toffees and crumpets

. A lapse like that usually takes a week or so to overcome. Lots of chocolate and marshmallows today too

I think my little turtle will be crawling backwards this week!
PS should I call you Brit? or Britt, or what is your real name?
