  • Wow Linda, it sounds like you life is a little topsy turvey at the moment.
Dotti, I hope your stove is in and you have had the chance to use it, as for the computer? MOVE IT!!! we nee you here!
Ruth, All I can think about it poor Lucy, she has no clue what she is about to go through and I wonder if ahe is like my molly and holds a grudge....

I had my hair straigtened yeterday. The new process took 2 hours which is better than the 4 it has taken in the past and let me tell you my hair is PIN straight. unbelievable!

Saturday and the weather is beautiful, The kids have karate meeting today and little man has a playdate/birthday thing. I am a little uneasy about it as the mother has been diagnosed with brain cancer. They are a chinese family and not everyone speaks english so i is difficult to know what the diagnosis is or even what the prognosis is. i think she has come home after 2 months in the hospital and I hope it doesn't freak out little man to see her. I feel so badly for this family but what I have to relize is that every culture has its own ways.

Anyway on that note I am going to try and do a little bit of exercise knowing I can't was my hair until tomorrow night.

    happy saturday
  • I am trying to get in my posting while I have some time to myself. MIL takes frequent naps, so that helps. But at night when I come home from work, she is up and raring for a nice dinner(that I cook) and a chat! But I have to get myself taken care of, and this weekend is for that. both bathrooms are done, and a quick vacuuming too.

Hi L, I'll bet your hair looks great. How long will it last? Re: the ill mom, it reminded me of a local mom here that died last year...her kids were around 7 and 10. What a hard year it was seeing her at different school/sports functions around town...and then seeing the kids afterwards. They have all made out OK, but it is painful to remember, even now. But other kids were more matter-of-fact about it...less curious than I expected, and very innattentive to the hats, scarves, etc. from chemo. Let us know how little man fares.

Hi Linda, your house sounds like mine- everything topsy turvey, nothing where it belongs. But I feel like a wimp! I just have one little 80 year old lady, you have 4 adults and 2 infants! I guess it 'll be fun and you surely want those babies close by but that seems like a zoo! And that diabetic diet seems very carb-y to me, too. I have been trying to come up with food for MIL who loves her cookies, crackers and potatoes. I am eating what she eats and I'm going crazy with hunger from the carbs. I need some omelets and burgers!

Ruth, hope you get the weather we are getting today...coolish, but dry, sunny. But don't over do. I think cutting down on yardwork is a good idea. I have to get someone to help us plan out what do do here...and we need a "lad" to help with some of it! Last weekend I did some of the big pruning with DH doing the high spots. It looks great, but my hands and arms were sore for days-

...one more load of wash to get through the dryer, and I"m done. I have found I need to be on top of the little chores since there's more to do now with MIL here. If I don't cook, she eats crackers for her meals. We are testing out various alternatives. She has a good appetite, but is a fussy eater.

Well, it's my anniversary, so we are going out to dinner tonight. PF Changs I think...looking forward to that.

that's it for me...have a good one, see you tomorrow,
    dottie
