Hi Grrls - I'm at my Mom's today, and spending the night with the kids. G'ma has a pool, and it's heated!! Lots of fun for Sarah. Thankfully, it looks like most of the Easter candy is gone.

I'm still a bit behind on my sleep, but hopefully, we'll do better tonight after the kids get some fresh air. DH and I have had some issues lately - I've been doing everything in the evenings as far as the kids are concerned, and collapsing before getting some time in to myself. Every few weeks he goes into hobby mode and is useless around the house.

Sounds like you are doing better, Chris, I'm glad to hear. Get out that hula hoop when you're feeling stressed. I don't think negative feelings and hula hoops can co-exist in the same space - it's the fifth law of the universe.

Oh, Jennelle - I wanted to tell you how sorry I am about your friend's death - I went through something like that not too long ago. His family will really appreciate your letters, and it will be good for you to write them. Take care.

Okay...am sitting here eating my lunch at almost 4 p.m. because I forgot to bring my lunch or enough money for lunch to school. I had to leave early to take the kids to the dentist and figured I'd have plenty of time to get something (remember - can't eat in my car because it's against my abstinence) but sat and waited 45 mins. for son to be called back. I finally asked if it would be okay if I ran home for a minute. And here I am!

Thank you all for your condolences and sweet thoughts. I finished the letter last night and will mail it tomorrow.

Well, my car has been in the shop since yesterday. Not too sure if I'll get it back today. Can't wait to write the check to the auto shop.

I am fighting with the gremlins in my head who think I shouldn't workout when I get home. I plan to win this one. Stupid, lazy gremlins.

kat my car took a dump earlier this week, but it was terminal ugggg. hope yours gets out of the shop soon and doesn't cost you the big $$$. btw i have those same gremlins here but they always seem to win the fight.

jennelle so sorry to hear about your old friend, you did the right thing putting your thoughts down on paper for the family.

ellis i love those second hand stores, my sis used to work in a consignment shop we would have the worlds best time rummaging through all the stuff there, nice you got to treat yourself, you totally deserve it all the work outs you've been doing!!!

I was just emailing my ex-sponsor (we still keep in touch, even though she's unable to sponsor me right now) and had a tremendous lightbulb moment that I'd like to share.

The past few days have been rough. I've had two shitty days in a row at school, and I have been mourning the loss of a dear old friend. I have been feeling every single moment of it, because I no longer have the option of turning to old favorites like ice cream to bury the pain.

Saying goodbye to Scott has been hard....I've had to confront my own mortality and the pain of losing touch with him over the years. I've had to wrestle with the fact that I will never be able to see him again, ever. (Okay, in heaven.. ) I have had to come up with other ways to mourn...writing a letter to his mom...getting in touch with a mutual friend and sharing feelings with her...calling the radio station and getting them to play a song in his memory, then dancing with the dog and singing at the top of my lungs and laughing and crying and finally letting go.

But you know what? It is so incredibly freeing to allow myself to FEEL again. It hurts, sure, but I FEEL it, and I feel better for it. Stuffing my face with Sonic cream pie shakes would be no way to honor his life, would it?

Ain't that a kick in the pants?

Hi all. Sorry I've been MIA - I'm feeling so behind in so many areas - I just decided to let up on this for a while. I can't keep up.

I have been reading this weekly thread and am thinking of you all.

Something weird and yucky: I wrote to my sponsor on Tuesday that I was having a hard time with food and I have been eating everything in sight. She is always so good to reply - usually within a couple of hours. I have had no response from her whatsoever.

This is my first sponsor - so I don't know if this is normal sponsor behavior. Is this tough love? Because it feels like crap.

Angi, I'm sure it's not what you think. She may be really busy... she may be in a crisis herself. Sending you love and hugs...

Oh yeah...I forgot to share this the other day...I was watching the local news and they had one of those news tickers at the bottom...one of the things crawling by said "Chocolate, BBQ addiction may be real, scientists say."

I just started laughing. NO S**T, SHERLOCK! I've got a whole board full of women who can tell you it's REAL!

Thanks, Ellis: I just sent her an email asking if she's OK, rather than assuming that she's trying to make a point with silence. Anything can happen with email - and you're right something may have happened in her life.

Angi, I agree with everyone else that it's probably a computer thing or she's really busy. And if it is "tough love" and it's not your taste, remember there are all kinds of sponsors out there.

Jodi, I have my car back. It cost a pretty penny but it was worth it since it's now running better.
