  • good afternoon ladies: A busy weekend, as we bid goodbye to our Pastor. We do have a new man coming in May 1st, so it was a bittersweet day. A Nice reception after church. Our committee were the food runners, and I was 'pooped' when we got home. Even fell asleep in my chair and that is something I rarely do.

today day the kitchen band in our park will be having their annual spring show, and our line dancers (I am on of them) will be doing a number - the Charleston. fun. And some of the gals in our chorus, including me will be serving punch and cookies afterward. never a dull moment.

Just a short report on my friend. They made the ambulance trip to the airport only to find the plane whouldn't accomodate a stretcher. Back to the hospital. They did not go to Miami, as that was too far, and so they are still waiting. but we are hoping that they will get to see a neurosurgeon before they get the next flight orders. And maybe their special insurance will find that the cost for a 2nd opinion is less than all the special 1st class flying with a bed, etc. Thank you for your best wishes for them and I'll keep you updated.

Glad to hear spring is arriving in the northern climes. I love daffodils. sort of miss them down here. But there are other things to compensate. Now we are off to sign our tax papers. And goody goody we are getting a refund. See you tomorrow. Lizzie
  • BirdLady, you took the words right out of my mouth. I also feel like that about those"low carb" foods. Too much processing; I don't trust 'em. Stick with the whole foods, Imarah. I've been on the Beach for almost 10 weeks and that's what works for me. Good Luck. Jo
  • Good morning fellow beach buddies! Another sunny day here in San Diego. Fairly warm out too. Where did the weekend go?!

Did my usual morning workout of pilates (boy are my buns burning!) and it is now time to enjoy a cup o' joe. DB called this morn to say good morning.

Soon it will be time to go into work (I work evenings) and try to stay chipper knowing it is a beautiful day out. I think the hospital should install a sun roof so we can at least FEEL like we are a part of the beautiful weather.

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!
  • Who could moan?
Not me. There is sunshine here today! I woke up to snow on the ground yesterday (growl) so I'm as happy as a hog in fresh manure today!
  • DB just called and told me I have an impromptu yoga class this evening that he signed me up for! Love that boy! I joined the pool again, too~! AND! He and I are going to take Karate together. We will be lean, mean, luvin machines here pretty soon!!

Gotta run! I'll have my normal sermon tomorrow, today was just busy busy busy! Stay OP!
  • Oh, yes, and I got published! A little nastygram letter to the editor I wrote got published, albeit severely shorter than it was, but still published. You guys aren't the only ones that get to read my yammering!

  • Same Ruthxxx, Anna. However, the sangria recipe was Barca's, I think. How on earth did you dig up this old thread. I should have closed it nearly a year ago.
Are you on South Beach? If so, please join us on the current daily.
  • My gosh, Ruth! LOOK at this old rag! It's like reading an old diary!
