  • Hi guys - you ladies who are joining gyms are putting me to shame. . . No physical activity around here unless baby-lifting counts! I've had some problems with that, too. My fibromyalgia is really freaking out with this change in my life - I now have tendonitis in both wrists and my right ankle. Crazy! I have a brace for each joint and really look like ROBO-MOMMY when I wear them all at the same time!

Elijah has been keeping us up at night - he pretty much sleeps through the night unless he's not feeling well. The last few nights have been rough on every one. Poor little guy.

My eating hasn't been so great. Dh and I promised eachother that if we couldn't get it together by next Monday, we are going back on Atkins. We'll see.
  • Hi Angi,

I couldn't help but respond to your entry. I remember the place where you are very well. It is so tiring and you reach to food for energy. Of course, everything is compounded by fatigue - including that fibromyalgia. It will get easier for all. I sure hope Elijah feels better soon and gets that sleep pattern turned around. Poor baby and Poor mommy and daddy! One day, you will reflect back and think "Man, how did I stay awake 24/7 for three years flat". Motherhood/parenthood is truly a challenge but yet a very rewarding one. Take Care and cuddle up under a warm blanket for a nap whenever you get the chance - don't worry about how the house look or what needs to be done, there will be plenty of time for that later. Right now, you just need rest. I hope you also feel well soon and that fibromyalgia goes back into remission for you...I developed an autoimmune disease when my babies were little and also carpel tunnel from too many diaper changes (can you imagine?). My learning and my regret was that I didn't take my chances to nap and kept going pushing myself to keep the house clean, organized, three square meals etc. The result, I went down for the count - God's little reminder of if you don't take the time to take care of yourself, I will make you. It worked, but was not pleasant. Sending you energy and the opportunity for zzzz's! Take care...
  • Thanks so much Jenaya! Your carpal tunnel sounds so much like my tendonitis - it's most certainly caused from lifting the baby- it hurts the most when I pick him up from the crib. Of course, I've learned to pick him up differently and avoid the pain so it's getting better.
I agree that I need to be easier on myself about the housework. I just hate being in a cluttered, dirty house! My tolerance is higher than most people's though, I think, so I do let it go quite a lot. But I am really hard on myself when it is bad. I need to just think, "OK, I give it my best. Time to rest!"
  • Angi.. trust me.. your standards will change now with a little one!
Remember when you life comes to an end you won't give a second thought to how clean your house was. Rather you will think about the memories with your family
  • ok, i just skimmed over these and wanted to post a quick note. i'm alive! but i have to leave for work NOW.

been easing into working out (did 1/2 a minna tape tuesday and the rest last night) and counting calories (moderate success, under 2000 at least). i'm not sure i'm going to weigh on valentine's day because i like the monthly thing. but i might do it to see where i'm at, if those extra 5 i gained are coming back off.

i'll try to catch up in here this weekend!
  • Well, it's Thursday and I know it's supposed to be a new thread, but this one is only on Page two, so I thought I'd post here. Seems like a quiet week. I know I haven't been around as much as I like.

So on Tuesday I went to the Y and did my first solo weight workout and absolutely LOVED it!!!! I managed to squeeze in 45 minutes before Jacob's swim class. And BTW - he absolutely LOVES his swim class. So joining the Y was a great move. We have class again tonight, so I'll be able to squeeze in another workout!

Since my weight has been "Staying the same" so much, I decided to buckle down this week and try harder. Of course we won't talk about lunch today. I did not make wise choices.

April - How fun redoing your room. I always loved doing that. They did want Jacob to go under water, but they were pretty creative, they had him jump in and I'd catch him, but not until he'd gone under. He did it over and over. He didn't even notice he was going under.

Baygurl - Are you feeling better??

Monkeybabies - Did you end up joing the gym? The babysitting at the Gym is the best. It really helps out soooo much!! I hope your little one is feeling better.

Julie - Birthday today - Gym on Friday. What a great week!!!

Willowgirl - Great Link!! I haven't seen those before. Before and after pics really do it for me too. I think I might add a section to my inspiration binder that includes a bunch of befores and afters. thanks!

Jolee95 - Good thinking on the cupcakes. Much easier to give away like that!!

    SAPF -

Boibay - The gym made me nervous at 1st too. I think that's why the Y is better for me than a traditional gym. People aren't there to look good, they want to workout. Brother Bear - hmmmmm, Jacob and I are on our own tomorrow. Maybe I'll see if it is still playing somewhere. Thanks for the idea.

Kimmber72 - Ouch!!! Hope you are feeling better.

Jenaya - So how much water do you drink a day. I shoot for 96 oz, but usually I hit a little over 72 oz.

Angi - I think baby lifting counts and baby bending too!!! Jacob is also a great sleeper execpt when he is sick. I know how hard it is to get back on track especially when your life is so full right now. Good Luck!! I know you can do it!! Sorry that the fibromyalgia flared up. Jenaya and Dana are right. He will grow up clean house or not. Don't miss it! Take care of you.

Dana - Nice to see you here! How are you?

Holly - Glad you poped in. Taking the exerxcise thing slow is a good idea when you are just starting to feel better.

    Hi to everyone else!!
