  • bamie girl....think you need to stay away from the instant ones...means they are processed.....you know...faster to digest....we want to slow down the digestive process.....just take a little more time and cook em the ole fashion way...with a little low fat cheese melted in...and legal butter something...i use olivio....
  • Quote: News flash for you southern gals.....carolina girl, gavins mom and??? don't remember....anyway....the new guide....page 81 under grains...corn grits is listed as 1/2 cup..12 carbs...0 sugar...1 fat....GOOD

Thanks for the info Mozo!!!! As soon as I can get out of my driveway, I'm off to get some GRITS!!!!!
  • Ellis - grits are kinda like cream of wheat, but more savory. Do you eat that on your planet?

  • No. It doesn't grow here on the tundra.
  • I inserted a rude but funny (to me anyway) comment, Ellis, then I forgot where I was so I deleted it so as not to offend anybody else....but I didn't know it would say deleted (how was I to know, I just work here!) so here is my explanation!
  • The joys of being a moderator and being able to read deleted posts.
  • We can do that????????
  • Brats!
And I don't mean the Wisconsin type that are cooked in beer.
Is grits singular or plural? I've never tried them/he/she/it. I have to save some thrills for my old age. I've done corn fritters and biscuits with sausage gravy so far in my trips south.
  • Oh... corn fritters... my favorites! They're so easy to make, too. Hmmm... dinner tomorrow night? Just for the kids, of course!

Jen, why don't you ask your big sis for a list of instructions?
  • Ruth, what does 232/198/150ish - Next Goal: 195 mean? Is 232 where you started?
  • ms1...in case Ruth doesn't get a chance to read your post...I can help with this question. You will see numbers often in someones signature line. The first number is start weight, the second is current weight and the third is their goal weight. Some people will use the initials sw, cw, and gw.

    Hope that helps!
