  • Hello Kay Sorry I have been absent, Work was overwhelming and lots of OT to try and keep up. (I do real estate closings and the end of the month is almost always crazy. Usually January is a slow month.. but this year its NUTS. I think people are worried about the stock market and buying houses / land etc as the values in my area are still on their way up)

    I am in the almost same shoes as you.. I am 58 and seeing that darn 60 ahead of me argh! Our metabolisms must slow down as we get older.. I swear. BUT this fitbit is really helping me as I am walking more (up to 8000+ - just work walking and I cannot wait until I get some more weight off to start walking outside ((I am a bit ashamed of how I look in my walking pants)) ) Just 3 years ago I was able to lose weight more easily... Oh well... Getting my resting heart beat raised too from 53 up to 58 now *yahoo* lololol

    I hope you are having a nice weekend. I know this rainy coldfront was over you the last few days and we now have it. Its kinda nice to be home and curl up on the couch and then walk 250 steps an hour as my fitbit buzzes me LOLOLO

  • Hello Kay... I think a higher resting heart rate is good. I have been told. I have been so sedentary for over a year and I have a feeling that is why my resting rate is low. I started at 53 and now am up to 57 with the walking I am doing... So I hope it is a better thing lol

  • Kay WOWOWOWOWOW and on the loss. You are doing so great! I remember the 240's it took me 2 1/2 months to get out of them LOLOL But WHOOSH for You! I am very happy for you.

    Me... I think I just might make it back to Twoderland tomorrow... Just thinking. and Thank you for your wishes on my work today... It was very crazy. I had a Real Estate closing (I had 6 today ) at 9:00 am and the lender did not send their final figures nor their documents until 4:00. I felt so sorry for the buyers. but the neat thing about my job... I get to talk to the people as I explain documents and One of my buyers played on the Harlem Globetrotters for 20 years 70's - 90's and was a coach for 3 years. Made the closing more interesting for me (tho I do explain the closing documents with my Sing Song voice and funny quips lololoL) I made it thru the day.

    Can't wait to see what the world has in store for us tomorrow!

    I like to destress people in my closings and try and get them to laugh at least once. That way it goes alot easier and smoother (and I have fun too lolo.,)

  • LOLOLOLOL I know Kay... Our scales are our banes. They make us happy and they P*ss us off sometimes. lolololol I think you have the smart idea only weighing 1 time a week and I think I will do that once I lose enough to know I am on my way and in the groove. (Groovy I say LOLOLOLOL)
    Oh and I saw back on the other thread (holiday check ins) and you have lost a small child already! Shazamm!!!!

    Welll walking around Disney for 6 hours yesterday (dodging and weaving around people too .. got me some stair climbing in too on my Fitbit LOLOL Don't know how that happened, but the contraption doesn;t lie right? (13000+ steps in at DW) and my scale rewarded me - BIG GRIN!

    That walking (and standing) at Disney World will make you lose weight. It's like a whole day gym excursion.

    lol. The Alcohol festivals. In September, I forgot about Food & Wine. I made a fastpass around noon for Frozen Ever After. It was rough getting back in the World Showcase on a Saturday at noon. Good thing I had a jogging stroller to get the drinkers out of my way.
