  • Chickadee I remember you too!!!! Welcome back. Like Debbie I am maintaining. I too try to keep within 5 pounds of my goal. Checking in does help keep me focused. Today for example was a very stressful day at work (don't worry chicks it was administrative stress lol) I skipped lunch, grabbed my cut up veggies while I worked. Got home and was ravenous. Truthfully I did not want anything that I had prepared. So I opted to make a smoothie. I love that I have flexibility with what I eat.

Beth I agree the What's for Dinner thread would be great. Especially since we seem to actually cook again this time of the year lol

Ruth I hope you enjoyed your day with Mary Ellen. I know I hate leaving my mom's when I am there.

Pearlrose what type of art class if DD2 taking?

Debbie you can keep the snow lol my zinnias are still in bloom!

Time to unwind. Have a splendid evening.
  • Good morning, TGIF

I am going into work today so getting ready to head out shortly. I think we are going to First Fridays' at the Science Center tonight, that should be fun and best is everything is free!

Chickadee I have 10 more lbs to go to get to maintenance mode, I started getting my head into losing weight back in July of last year and over the course of the year have lost what I had regained over the years. Checking in here is what sometimes gets me back on track when I fall off the wagon and I believe that is what has helped me in the long run- always getting back on the wagon and not staying off the wagon.

Jekel DD2 takes art class from a local artisan- she is teaching DD2 all of the techniques, right now they are working on balance and shading, she is a great teacher and kinda of reminds me of my MIL (who I love).

Ruth I know you enjoyed your time with DD

Debbie I saw you all got snow already yikes, we are finally getting back into the 70s this week, I had to run the AC again as we were high 80s this week.

Beth hope school goes well today.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Good morning all. Time to get back into alleged "normal" life and face the scale. Things have been slipping over the past year or so. Social stuff has me back to the mid 180's. My DD said "Where's your scale?" and then ordered me to "Get it out!" So like Chickadee, I'll be focusing on getting back on track including quitting wine until the classy wedding in Toronto at month's end when I want to be in the (high) 170s.

Beth, have the kids settled into school well or has the Halloween excitement started up. Our Thanksgiving is this coming Monday and that usually sets off . Reminder to self- get the H. crud bought before the wedding.... and hidden.

Jennifer, my week with my DD was wonderful and it was hard dropping her off at YOW although we allowed ourselves a limited amount of tears. Driving home was also very hard with the setting sun in my eyes the whole way. I blocked some of the glare with a newspaper but there must be a way to do that legally. Any hints?

Rose, I so admire you for getting off that weight. It gets very much harder when you get older. I wish I could get over my scale obsession. I put it away because my mood was affected by daily weighing.

Today will be a mostly an at home day, planning some menues and unspoiling two dogs who spent most of the week being petted and treated with special thing like imported cheese!

I am going to start a What's For Dinner thread!
  • Good morning!

We had our killing frost last night. It's still super cold out. I'm enjoying one more cup of coffee then Kirk and I are going to attack things in the yard. We pulled the timers off last night so they didn't freeze and I covered the kale. I think the tomatoes are still hanging in there in the greenhouse but everything else is GONE. Sad, but it was a great season. I made lots of headway in the yard this year.

Yesterday included both eating and unplanned sweets. I'm back on the wagon today. Have a good day everyone!
  • Oh, it has been too long. Looking forward to catching up on many threads this weekend -

For those (chickadee) looking for day to day support - I just restarted myself.

    Take care -
    bea
  • Happy Friday, chicks!

We have had a couple days of GORGEOUS weather; mid to upper 70s. Yesterday I left school a bit early (which for me really means that I didn't stay late) so I could stop and take a long walk on my way home. The leaves are beautiful right now. I love the fall colors. We have Monday off for Columbus Day and I hope to take a drive into the mountains and leaf peep.

Ruth, glad you had a nice visit and I'm sure it was hard to say goodbye.

    Pearlrose, enjoy the Science Center!

Debbie, we had a couple of light frosts; zapped the tomatoes but my marigolds are still looking good. I find it so satisfying to see progress in the yard.

Chickadee and bea, I think the hardest part is just getting (re) started. Once I am in the groove I'm ok.

    Have a good evening, chicks!
