Thanks for posting this link! I have this book and it's wonderful. I do consider myself a "success" because I have kept most of the weight off. I do my periodic reboots on IP to maintain that loss. At this point in my life, that's what works for me. I find it easier to slide into a healthy low-carb maintenance after doing several weeks (or a month) of P1. It's like a reset button for me.

    Anyway, thanks canadjineh and destony!

This article definitely puts the WL some of the contestants have been able to maintain in a much more positive light.

Otoh, I believe the NYT article shed some much needed light on the problems extreme / yo-yo dieting produces in regards to our hormone system - leptin, adrenals, thyroid. Doctors encourage weight loss, but the majority don't test some of the most important markers - even my PDoc, who I love and has been great regarding my thyroid, has never suggested looking at leptin or adrenal function - even after a 90 pound weight loss...granted, I'm not having any *symptoms* of adrenal fatigue...but would be curious regarding the leptin & my problems with binging (that I am slowly getting under control)

We are all different and unique - but one thing the majority of us on this board share is that we lost a significant amount of weight doing IP protocol - and we are all having to find what works for us individually in maintenance.
Some of us, myself included, are struggling a bit (or a lot). Psychological or physiological? A combination of both?

Ro - thank you for that information
