  • I feel a bit of a fraud weighing in (heh) but I guess I have lost a person so I might know something lol

I say 'fraud' because sooooooo many people weigh every ounce of food, know every value of every molecule and document it for ages on graphs and charts while i just....well...stopped.

I stopped kidding myself. I stopped lying to myself. I talked to a therapist. I knew there was a difference between someone 20lbs overweight and me at 150+ overweight. Dealt with my not-at-all-traumatic issues and just got rid of stuff i knew was hurting me. Soda, gone. Candy, gone. Fast food, gone. Other than that, it was pretty much 'normal life'. I made real food, stuff my granny used to make. Porridge for breakfast. Homemade soups and a bun for lunch, or a big salad with some chicken. but i put dressing on it. I put a smidgen of butter on the bun. I didn't want to "diet" a day I wasn't prepared to LIVE for the rest of my life, if that makes sense??

I stopped weighing myself 3 times a week. I didn't check till 2 months on. My pants were loose so i knew something was going on.

After about 50lbs i finally started moving my butt. Walking, 'extreme housecleaning' was my fav ha ha you run up and down stairs to do laundry, vacuum like a maniac, pull out fridges and stoves and couches to clean behind it. You sweat AND have a sparkly house ha ha

There's no magic answer for everyone, no amount of advice or money can do it for you, if there was Oprah would be skinny. It's the finding the thing that clicks, not just for a week or so but forever.
  • Trazey ..... Thanks so much for your post. That's exactly how I would like to do it ..... And so good to hear you have had success......-
I don't think I really want to be an extreme housecleaner though .....

But would love to make changes that stick without the need to count and track .....

I love this, and think it would be the best way for me to do it too. I even love the "extreme housecleaning" idea because I hate gyms.
  • Thanks all for the replies.... Well from Nov 01- Dec 01 I lost 10 lbs doing low carb. Goal was zero grams of carbs but I that never happen. I found my carb intake range from 10-30 just depends on the day. I am sticking with my current plan for now.
  • Trazey, great post, thank you so much, it was very encouraging. Extreme house cleaning.... hummmm... I'll have to consider that!
