  • Im not too religious but I am catholic and what helps me when Im depressed is to think of one thing that I have, that I am thankful for. I may not have the perfect body but I have a cute pet cat. Just think of something you have or think of one event in your day that you look forward to.
  • Quote: Are you looking for Weight loss books or depression books?

I can't say I have found many weight loss books that have helped but there are three books that I have read that I always find helpful.

    This Year I Will
I Thought It Was Just Me (But it Isn't) by Brene Brown
The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown

I, honestly, turn too the two books by Brene Brown very often. The Gifts of Imperfection is a fantastic book and I plan on ordering BOTH of the books I listed for my friends as gifts. I can't promise they will help you but both of them were very helpful to me and helped me realize I am not always as alone as I think I am.
I will second Brene Brown. She is amazing and both are well worth the read--and repeated read. Go to You Tube and watch her Ted Talk, her Ted Talk on shame is in the top ten highest rated Ted Talks ever. She's good.
  • My CBT therapist gave me Mark G Williams The Mindful Way Through Depression - I really enjoy the body scan, and I feel so energised after it (and I am not a spiritual person in the slightest!) and I used to use it when I needed motivation to get through the day, sleep or get myself to leave the house and go for a walk.
