Went on IP 4 years ago and lost 20lbs. LOVED it so much! Kept it off until last year, after I lost my father. All of it back on So depressing. I am determined to look and feel like I used to. IP ALL THE WAY!! NO CHEATING!!
  • Request sent.

    Thank you, Lisa.
  • Thank you Lisa. Last challenge was my first, and very motivational!
  • I'm in! Looking forward to this! My first month is behind me, and I'm ready to move into 2015 weighing less (and feeling better) every month! This will be my first challenge, and I have no idea what to expect.
  • Thanks to many of you who have sent me public or private thank-yous. It warms my heart to know I'm helping others.

I've felt for quite a while now that I MUST pay it forward. Many came to IP 3fc prior to me and I learned from all of them. I learned enough to lose 95 lbs.

I'm happy to report that although I'm rebooting, I have not gained all of my weight back (but at this rate, it would only take 2 more years )

Instead, I now have the tools to again put obesity into regression, before I regain it all and return to morbid obesity.

Mini goal #1 for me is to eliminate 17 lbs, which puts me back into overweight. Next goal after that will be to be back where I was, which will mean another -14. When I got there before, I was so disgusted that, due to medical reasons, I couldn't seem to get lower, that I couldn't enjoy the success I had experienced. I had a goal to go lower and my body just wouldn't do it. It didn't help that I encountered negativity and pressure from some people here in 3fc. Isn't it interesting that we allow a few negative comments to negate all the positives?

I would SO LOVE to drop down to my initial goal, which was 150. But, I've learned that a big part of the journey is acceptance. So, my plan is to return to where I was and then to spend 2015 learning to maintain. If, along the way, my body chooses to cooperate and go lower, then I'll accept that with open arms. If it chooses to stick with a maintenance weight higher than I would prefer, I'm going to see it as a lesson in acceptance. After all, I've abused my body for years. Maybe I should just give it a chance to heal.

Thanks for being on this journey with me.
  • Lisa...I read this thread just to hear how you are doing. You have been a great inspiration for me and are full of good advice.I like to see how all the oldies are doing because weight loss is a long term commitment both to lose and to maintain. You are beautiful as you are and if you are a few pounds above your goal weight you are still beautiful.I think your approach is very sensible and you should be proud of your accomplishments.I did not do IP but followed an IP like program to lose weight.I did not use packaged foods but used low carb vegs and protein foods.I also used whey protein powder for breakfast and found it seemed to satisfy my hunger and hold me till lunch.Best of luck for the new year and you seem to have it put together quite well.
