  • Good Morning all...

Just a little post for now from me...lots to do, starting with exercise. If I don't do it NOW, it won't get done. (esp since everyone is still sleeping)

My daughter and I are taking a drive up to her school, she has an interview for a job there...maybe we can also straighten out her roommate situation...too long a story to get into now.

Mary, your B&B sounds wonderful! We love staying at bed and breakfast inns! I don't remember if I posted this or not...dh has been wanting to take sailing lessons for years. Last week , he found a B&B about an hour from here, that includes with a two night stay, two days of sailing lessons, after which we'll get our sailing certificate. I can't wait!

oops...9:00...gotta run, see you all later!
  • I have returned
I missed an entire thread for the first time! Yikes. I must say I had good reason. It's been a busy weekend for me. Friday night Tom and I went out to our little blues club. It was a great show, afterwards we decided to go for a walk at Penn's Landing and to our surprise their were fireworks going on across the river in NJ. Now I'm not normally a romantic person at all, but this was a killer. The moonlight on the river with the reflection of the fireworks. It was one of the best nights we've ever had.
Saturday was filled with working out and errands and then yesterday we drove up to Wilkes-Barre, PA to go to Tom's track meet. it was a good day, he placed 5th out of 12 runners. He's not used to losing so he is now very motivated to train real hard for next year. I also got the idea that it would be a good goal for me too. I would love to run the 100 yard dash. Those other women were SLOW! I am seriously thinking about training for it. The funniest part of yesterday was Tom realizing he's going to need to get back to his college weight of 152 in order to beat those other guys. So let's see, he' askes me to help him lose. Very funny.
I just spent my lunch break reading over the last thread and this one so it leaves me no time to post individual replies, but I'll catch up with you ladies tonight. I just had to tell about my weekend!

  • Afternoon, ladies! Geez oh weez! I get here and we're down the page in 11th place! Where is everyone???

Went to WW this morning and was down another pound. WooHoo! Not great, but since food hasn't been terrific, I guess I can't expect more.

I bet if I kept up with Curves AND ate right, I could really do well.

Well girls, still no time to really catch up. Off to Curves I go. See ya'll later.

  • Today, I spent running......

    ....to the bank

    ....to Wal-Mart

    ....to the post office

    ....to the drugstore

....to the Dumpster to empty the trash

....to the mailbox to mail letters and get the junk mail for the day.

And it's hot! I'm totally pooped; is it any wonder I am calling out for dinner tonight?
  • Hi Gals!
It's sure quiet around here today. I can't believe it's already after 5. The day went so fast and I don't feel like I accomplished anything at work, yet I was busy all day.

Now I am debating whether or not I am ready to deal with the traffic. Once I drive my hour home I am still hoping to: Go tanning, go to the fabric store, work out for 45 minutes, eat dinner and relax.....Not sure if all that is possible between now and 10pm (when I am hoping to be in bed).

Natalie - Glad to hear that your date night turned out great! I can just picture you guys down at Penn's Landing.

Mary - Sounds like a fun weekend away!

Thin - Congrats on the Loss!!! Hey, a pound is a pound --- you're going in the right direction! What's that??? Eat healthy AND exercise???? There's a thought!!!

Well, I am going to head home! Talk to you lovely ladies later on!

  • Hi Ladies!
I'm glad everyone enjoyed their weekend. I wish I had better news-my son has gotten himself in jail He took a younger boy's bike, and the boy's parents filed a report. So now he's being charged with "Theft by taking". He'll be held til Wednesday a.m. when he'll have his bond hearing. Things are totally out of our hands, since he's no longer considered a juvenile. (an INSANE law-he's only 17!). Thank God there's people from our church who work in the system-they're keeping an eye out for him.

I'll be around, but I don't know when I'll be back to post. Hopefully I'll have better news.

When this crisis is over, it's time to start taking care of ME!

P.S. to Sandy: Thanks for the pics! Your son is a cutie! It's nice to be able to put a face w/your name. Where in ME do you live? We used to live in York County (SW) before we moved down here. I miss it!
  • Homebound/Joanne --- {{{{HUGS}}}}} I am so sorry to hear about the problems your son has gotten himself into! Hopefully he will learn from this experience. Sending good vibes your way!

I nearly accomplished everything tonight! I skipped the fabric store --- deciding that exercise was a priority! Now I am winding down for the evening, watching tv, getting read to go lay in bed and read.

    Sweet dreams to all!
  • Hey guys!

I'm going to short post it tonight because I am exhausted. Work was absolutely nuts today. Everything that could have went wrong today...went wrong today. Of course, it had to be on my watch.

The phones were ringing off the wall, a T-1 line went down so alot of our customers were getting a busy signal when they called and on top of that, our internet went down. It was a day straight out of

I hope you all have a wonderful night and I am crashing!
  • Okay... this is going to be a quick, long post. LOL
I am writing off line from last nights notes so I may miss some of todays stuff.

Lori... I have never been to a Karaoke bar. I would sound like Cameron Deiaz (sp?) in the movie... "My Best Friends Wedding". I can not carry a tune.

Kat.. I want all the info on that B&B that comes with sailing lessons.
I have never been to a B&B either.... but my brother and his wife LOVES them and he has always wanted to sail. That would be a perfect vacation for them.

Sandy... Evan is so cute !!! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I just LOVE it when you guys share photos.

Mary... sounds like you had a nice B&B too. What a relaxing getaway.
I buy lottery tickets everytime I go to Missouri to see my parents.... Only thing I have ever won is my money back. But I will keep trying. If I ever win the REALLY BIG ONE $$$$$$ I will pay for our get together.

Michelle...I am with you... Sexy guys are okay.. but give me the CHOCOLATE !!!! LOL

Thin... I will have to thank you and Syn for that "synfully" good sounding recipe.

Homebound/Joanne... I am so sorry to hear of your problems with your son. I would be so stressed out. I am one of the fortunate ones that had three kids that didn't give me much stress at all. It was not totally stress free... but no major problems.

Grasshopper /Deb ... Double Depp Chocolate... LOL I have to admit... Even though I am old... Johnny puts a SMILE on this old face too.

Lucky... Are you the one who started this chocolate frenzy and hunk mania ???
I think I agree more on the line of Thins thinking. Johnny is eye candy.... but give me bad boy Bruce. I use to like Sean Connery until I watched him in an interview state that a woman sometimes "NEEDS" to be hit. He fell off that pedastal really quick.

DixieDarlin/connie... I am not exhausted at all. In fact... I have more energy than ever since exercising every morning. Well... maybe sometimes tired... but a GOOD tired.

Amanda ... I REALLY enjoyed your chocolate story. The secret is "placement" when it comes to chocolate and whip cream. LOL You want to use just enough that you can eat it all. LOL If I tried to cover my whole body I would have to call in the entire 12th infantry to eat it all. Hmmm.... that may not be too bad. LOL

Terri... I really liked your pics !!! I love it when I have visual aids.
We finally got needed rain here Friday night and Sat morning. It is raining now as I type too. Sorry it cost you a trip to the lake.
Next year is my 30th class reunion. I have not been to one yet because of my weight. Hopefully by next summer my weight won't be the determining factor if I go or not.

Pam... I agree with you too... Kevin Cosner and Bruce. I will pass on Leo ... he is too... too.... little boyish to me.
Isn't it disgusting how expensive ball tickets are !!! $$$$

Barb... I need you to come faux paint my two bathrooms and 2 bedrooms.
When I was younger I would invest the time and effort for uniqueness ... but now I am just too old, fat and lazy. LOL I can't wait to see pics of your room... your dining room was beautiful!!!

Natlie... you evening sounded lovely. I wish I had been there.

Tina... Ahhhhh... I have missed you too. Thank you !!
I LOVED all of your smilies for Chocolate/ Tony. Especially the smoking smilie at the end.
Sorry to hear that Tony did not win.

Okay... that is everyone to my knowledge. If I missed you... it was an accident. Sorry.

My day started off good... exercised for an hour.
But... I didn't seem to get much accomplished even though I was busy all day.
Got to go. Tuesday is errand day.
  • Hi ladies - just a quick post and then back to work.

I'm going to have to start taking smoke breaks at work after reading all of these posts about men, chocolate and whipped cream !!

2cute - you're sounding like a woman of experience there "you want to use just enough that you can eat it all".

Mary and Natalie - sounds like you guys had a good time.

Tina - sorry Tony didn't win, he has really had some bad breaks lately; sending good vibes his way . Glad you leg is better. Hope the "kitty time out" works.

Homebound - hope things work out with your son's situation.

To everyone else, keep up the good work. We can do this.

The girls here just brought me a bunch of work, so I've got to get out of here.

Hope you all have a good day tomorrow.
  • Good Morning chicklets,
Yesterday was a busy day and before I knew it the day was gone and I was in bed snoozing away

Homebound: Sorry to hear about your son, I hope he does not get in to to much trouble over a stolen bike. "wow" 17 is an adult in your state? I do believe it is 18 here.

Connie: Cute little insert about the chocolate and smoking...hahaha, I got a little chuckle.

2cute: Thanks for the compliment on my son, he is kind of a cutie huh....I will post one of my girl at the end of here.

Tina: Sorry about the work day from , hope all is back to normal now.

Barb: Sounds like you had a filled day and accomplished tons. You are always on the go go go.

Lori: Your day sounded busy too. What did you order for dinner? We have no place that delivers here, I think that is a good thing for me...

Thin: Congrats on the pound down. Take them when they come, even a 1/4 of a pound is a stick of butter you know. So you lost 4 sticks of butter.....way to go!!!

Kat: Did you get your exercise session in? Did your daughter get the job? And whats up with the roommate thing? Does she have one? Or does she have one from ? Good luck.

Mary: Glad you had a wonderful weekend with hubby. Hope his abcess is better. Can your son jack up the ceiling anyway? Then maybe put some sort of sealer on the top so it wont leak? Good luck.

Justme: Fireworks on the lake hand in hand with the bf. Sounds romantic and nice to me. Good luck trainging for the 100 dash, that would be cool. Now bf needs your help loosing too, so that should make things easier, and then you two can run together.

Pam: thanks for the pm, I have seen that site sometime before but can't remember why or how or when. Maybe I talked with him on dotties I am thinking? Anyway thank you.

Okay girls, I have to go beat my children now because they seem to think they need to fight and pick at each other from the time they get up till the time they go to bed (okay, I will not beat them, but I am so tired of yelling and playing referee)

Here is my girl, I named this picture "A little piece of Heaven"

  • Good morning ladies!

As usual, not much time for a lengthy post.

I worked late last night and that cut out my spinner time and computer time. For some reason, DH thinks I should spend time with him and the dog thinks I'm his not DH's. Sometimes, I think of the days when I was single and lonely and think...what the he$$ was I complaining about? I love them both with all my heart but sometimes I need to do my own thing. Not like I'm out at a bar.

    Anyway..

Food was great yesterday. Definitely back within my ranges. I did walk the dog and did so my morning exercises (which I'm skipping this morning so I can post!) but didn't get in my other cardio.

Work was a bit** because as soon as I walked in, I was responding to other people's crises. The boss is back from vacation and her fires are my fires. Just my day to be on the hotseat. Hopefully today, it will be one of my peers.

Thin - Hot dog you're doing great with the Curves. I'm so thrilled that you're still going and still liking it. And it is paying off. A pound is great. Pick up a pound of butter and feel how much you're not carrying around anymore. Go girl!

Homebound/Joanne - for your troubles with your son. My brother has one about the same age that chooses to not participate in school and hang out with the wrong kind of boys. He'll miss graduation by a semester and won't be able to get into college if he doesn't get his grades up. He's smart as a whip but chooses to be dumb. And he's wrecked every car he's driven. I feel for both of you because its heartbreaking when you can't get through to them about what they're doing. You'll be in my prayers. Take care of you!

Everyone else, hello! I've read but can't remember what else is up. Except a nice long post from 2Cute!!

I better get my butt moving. Have a great day, ladies.

  • Good Morning Everyone!
I have to rush off to a meeting so this is going to be short....
I just wanted to wish everyone a WONDERFUL day! I'll stop back later on!
  • Good morning girls. Sorry I didn't make it back last night. I got caught up making this bran/date/orange bread. I wanted to make something I could eat for breakfast that was cheap, loaded with fiber and tasted good. I think I was successful except it's a little dry. I should have added more applesauce to the batter. Hey, that's my tip for the day.

Grab some bran muffin mix from the store, add whatever you want and make it your own. Then slice it up and take it to work for breakfast. Add a banana and voila, you have a perfect wholesome breakfast. My loaf will probably last the rest of the week. As long as I store it properly.

Once again I've got no time to add replies to everyone but hello to all. I am definitely going to be back for lunch and I'll catch up with everyone then.

    HAVE A GREAT MORNING!

    Natalie
