  • Quote: The irony is that those 20 year olds are probably saying about you, "Dang, I hope I look that good when I'm 30 and have had two kids!" Because most likely they won't!

But for your head to be in a better place, hanging out and working out with more like-aged peers might help your self-confidence. There are tons of super fit 30 and 40 somethings too and you would be quite the inspiration!
It sure would be nice to spend time with other women who don't think going to sleep after a late movie at 11pm and waking up at 7am is as exhausting as nursing a baby every 1-2 hours a night.....

I'm already done 2 loads of laundry and the dishes by 7am........ lol. Thanks This has been very helpful.
  • i think if you want to and have the $ for it and have thought carefully about it then you shouldn't have any shame in doing so

    However

i would LOVE LOVE to have an abdomen like that. LOVE! Well i'm almost 51 and could care less about a bikini or midriff baring clothing but i would be in Heaven over that tummy, LOL

Maybe...learn to enjoy what you do have and how flat it is, etc. and admire yourself and THEN...go for a consultation
  • Quote: Thanks berry. Maybe I need to find a new crowd - I'm nearing 'retirement' age for my sport (powerlifting). I'm barely 30 which is so young but when the other girls are 20, it hits hard.
Changing the crowd you run in could completely change your perspective on things! I would start with that.

However, that doesn't mean you can't look into surgical options. No one says that just because you do research and plan that you HAVE to go through with it. You could find out everything you can about it, even go as far as to find a surgeon, and then put it on the back burner for awhile as an option.

You may change your mind in 6 months from now, you never know.
  • i would say over all your abdomen looks really good and if i was you i wouldnt bother getting a tummy tuck. it appears that the excess skin is mostly above the belly button but everything else looks firm and in really good shape actually. if it is just the bit above the belly button, i would wait and see if that sorts itself out but if you really are uncomfortable with it then save for the surgery while waiting to see if it goes away and if it doesnt then have the surgery if you feel the need. i think your abdomen looks good though. from 1-10 on the omg this person needs surgery i would rate you a 1 and a 1 is low and really not necessary. sure its a "flaw" but its such a small flaw that its hardly a flaw if that makes sense. its like having perfect skin but then having a freckle and thinking well im perfect but i could be just a little more perfect without this freckle.. my view anyways im sure you view it as worse than anyone else who would see it would find it because its on your body and not theirs. i think your good the way you are now.
  • I agree that you look hot and I don't think you should get invasive surgery for somthign so minor.

Because it is so minor, maybe you could work into laser skin tightening? I looked into it a little out of curiousity at one point - and it really doesn't do very much (for people with real lose skin the results would never be noticeable) - but give you have such a small problem area, its possible you may see results.

I think if you go to realself.com you can find reviews on the different laser tightening procedures and the before/after pictures to see if that is a potential way to improve the issue and if laser tightening is worth your money.
