  • I've only tried them once and I wasn't a fan. I figured I would like them since I used to love cabbage (threw it up a few years ago and haven't eaten it since, LOL), but I didn't care for them.
  • Thank you Schmoodle and everyone! I never tried brussel sprouts, ever. After this thread, I saw them on sale and bought 2 pounds. Roasted with oil, S/P and 2 tablespoons pork bacon - YUM!!!
  • I found an amazing recipe for Brussels sprouts salad in a magazine in November. Can't remember the magazine (something about whole foods...) but I found an approximation here:

    Addictive Brussels Sprouts Salad

My adjustments to try to recreate the recipe I had seen:
    • I *blanched* the shredded sprouts, as per the original recipe I read, but most of the recipes do it raw (I didn't care for it as much raw, it is much crunchier, but it is much easier to make that way).
    • I used sliced almonds instead of walnuts
    • I made the dressing as listed but didn't use all of it in one batch (as written, it would be more than 1 Tablespoon oil/serving and the serving would only be 3 sprouts? That seems way too oily to me, and I certainly ate more than 3 sprouts.... so I used less vinaigrette)
The original recipe came from Gluten Free Girl, and she says, "You can make this salad any way you wish. We have made this with aged cheddar cheese, Manchego, and hard goat cheese. Try pecans or pine nuts or almonds. You’ll be wanting to eat your sprouts. No kidding."

OMG, this salad is unbelievably good. My husband ate almost the whole batch and he is not known for eating veggies
