  • They do spinning classes in my uni gym in the mornings. I am very new to exercise and honestly have no stamina, which is why I can only do classes where someone is shouting at me to carry on :P Did anyone here start it when they were new to exercise? Do you think it'd be too much for a beginner like me?
  • Spinning is literally a pain in the butt the first few classes. The thing that's nice about it is that you can choose your intensity and pace while getting yelled at to push on. That and the music always help me to push myself. The first time I gave it a try I liked it immediately! I wasn't a beginner but I've seen all types in class and I think you should try it!
  • I love Spin class but I was sore the first 3 times I took it and now I'm not sore at all. It is a great workout. I do it 1-2 times a week to switch up my cardio. I have had 4 different instructors and so a variety of music and they all instruct differently. I'm going to one in an hour. This instructor is very nice but doesn't push you as hard so I try to remember that and push myself I am grateful my Y offers classes on Sunday afternoon so I'm not complaining
  • I was never a big spin fan UNTIL I hurt my foot and couldn't run. I will go back to running soon, but in the meantime I'm doing 2-3 spin classes a week and it's absolutely fantastic. The bottom pain REALLY DOES go away after a few classes.

I will keep up spin once a week. What I don't like about spin is that it's inside. If I can, I'd rather be outside. Since a friend of mine was killed in a cycle accident, I've been too chicken to ride on the roads in London.
  • I agree! It leaves me painful in places my husband doesn't like me to hurt. Way way uncomfortable seat too and once my foot slipped out the paddle holders and slammed into my calf leaving a very visible print for days!!!
  • Don't be afraid of spinning class people! It's one of the best things you can do to push yourself and get better endurance and leg strength. I promise it won't hurt after 3-4 classes. Your body just has to get used to it. Plus, the best thing about spinning is you can do it at any level of fitness because you're in control of the resistance on your bike. It's a hard workout and it's easy to make up excuses not to do it ( please don't hate me for saying this! ) but it's definitely worth it

    * I realize spinning can't be for EVERYONE but I also believe in giving it a few chances before swearing it off forever *
