I went for a healthy BMI, clothes that looked and felt good, and adjusted my weight for a 'virtual' weight, because I had lost so much that I was left with a good 20 pds of excess skin. I am trying to help that now (in Phase 4) with exercise and have continued to loose a couple more pds.
I'd love to be a size 8...but I don't ever remember being that small? I remember Junior sizes 7,9,11 then I went to adult size 10 after that...I think I was I dunno, 20 when that happened? Not sure if my frame can be an 8, but it'd be fun to find out...
The BMI charts vary a lot - one I'm mid 40's, another I'm low 50's. I thought this was something that was scientific.
My coach said to be the size I was in college, not high school. Which is funny, becuse I've pretty much always been over weight. So that's not going to work.
I chose a goal weight that seemed reasonable, but have 100# to go, so who knows.
Like many of you I'd be happy in a size, the smallest I've ever been is a size 12, so to me that's making it. I like to get smaller than that though, a 10 maybe? I need to see how I look and feel.
At the beginning, just pick a number so you have a goal. Then as you get closer to that number evaluate how you feel at your new weight and adjust your goal (or not). Unless your weight gain was recent, you can't know what you will look and feel like at a certain weight. Bodytypes are so different, 5 women who are the same height and weight can look completely different. So it's really not about the number, it's about how you feel in your body.
