  • On the other hand, I would definitely take a pill!!! Lots of folks take medications daily (cholesterol, high blood pressure, anti-depressants). If someone determines that weight can be effectively managed via brain chemistry and devises a pill to do it, SIGN ME UP.

My exboyfriend suffered from depression, really suffered. He was very resistant to taking pills, thought it was weak, thought drug companies were evil. We had long talks about it and he did eventually start taking Effexor and it helped. He stopped suffering from crippling social anxiety and panic attacks.
  • I too would take a pill. Other than vitamins and low dose hormone replacement, I'm fortunate not to need medications. However, my motto is "better living with chemistry" and if a medication were helpful and side effects were minimal, I would be more than happy to at least try it.
  • I've been on Wellbutrin for a few years now and it hasn't helped my depression or my weight. Medications just don't work right for me. I'm always jealous of the effects that people will say they have and then I never experience it. I'm a lot more focused on the depression aspect of what I'm suffering. I so want a pill to fix that. My new psychiatrist decided to add on adderall for motivation. That's actually how I found this post because I wanted to hear of others experiences on adderall. For me it's done nothing. I haven't felt remotely a boost of energy at all. So I don't think this one will help either. But if I could ever get the depression under control then I know I could get the weight under control.
