Never give up. Keep smiling and enjoy life

So true! It is a constant battle to fend off the self pity! We can only be the best we can be.
  • from cp and severe back issues. I focus on what i can do not what i cant
  • I'm struggling with 2 herniated disks in my spine, one in the lumbar region and one in the cervical region. I see my surgeon tomorrow to discuss the possibility of a spinal fusion surgery on the cervical herniation because it's causing headaches, dizziness, loss of feeling in my hands and arms, constant pain, trouble sleeping because every pillow in the world causes more pain...I'm miserable, and I'm afraid to work out. Simple things that I used to love doing (Zumba, Bowling...etc) are now SO PAINFUL for me....and it's so extremely frustrating. I'm at a point where I just want to give up. I know I can't though. My mother has degenerative disk disease and it's genetic, so it's very likely that I have it....and if I don't lose weight soon it's very likely I could further damage my spine.

I just wish I could find some exercises to do that I wasn't afraid of doing. I DO NOT have access to a swimming pool, or I would just swim every day...

The pain has gotten so bad that I had to quit my job teaching pre-k, which I absolutely loved, because there was too much bending and getting up and down off the floor and things like that...and it made my back worse then it was originally.

I'm just feeling very overwhelmed right now...
