  • I do my program through a chiropractor's office and have never had any sort of physical or bloodwork done. I wasn't even aware that was part of the program until I got on here. As a nursing student it makes it a little nervous to know these things should be checked and they aren't. I have been thinking about switching to Ideal To Go because I feel like I'm paying for nothing. I go weigh in and buy food, I don't get any advice or bloodwork. From what I understand a months worth of food is $300 on idealtogo.com. Also a friend referred to me to kaysnaturals.com which sells a lot of similar foods for much MUCH cheaper.
  • I do through the Clinic my Doc is at, but haven't seen him in almost a year. Filled out the form, met with the Coach and she checked the information they already had in the computer and said she'd give him a heads up to review things. Next week said he was happy I was doing it, no worries but would want to do blood work after a couple of months.
  • I never had any blood work or physical either. All of the coaches are retired nurses at my clinic.

I think you should use your campus's student health center to get a physical and ask about the diet. The fees you pay in your bill each semester support this and there should be no cost to you. On the campus I work at, we have a CNP who takes care of the students. She is the one who recommended IP to me!
  • Quote: At a glance it sounds like hypothyroidism, which can cause fatigue and weakness. Was the sea salt you used iodized? The required blood work at my clinic measures levels of thyroid stimulating hormone, so I'm assuming there's some sort of connection to this diet with the thyroid, or maybe it's just a precaution for women that go on this diet... I'm really not sure Who knows, maybe there was some other sort of vitamin or mineral deficiency.
No. I know it wasn't hypothyroidism. I had lots and lots of blood work when the dizziness started. The Dr. suggested it was lack of Vit D. I've been taking additional VitD but the dizziness still hasn't gone away. It's definitely not as bad as before. Plus I've gotten used to it. Seeing stars I haven't gotten so used to yet...

Quote: 4 Grand!!!! I hope you didn't have to pay that yourself. I have the dizziness if I don't take the sea salt. It is because my Blood Pressure goes down with all the water but the sea salt seems to correct it.
I already have low blood pressure. I used to faint a lot in highschool. And no the 4 grand my husbands work paid for cause I don't have insurance. (That's a long story...)
  • esthershafe, my mom uses the protein mix from Walmart and she is still losing.
