  • I was taking an extra magnesium(non IP) tablet each day. Then I was reminded when I read the attachment you posted that magnesium lowers blood pressure. I have low blood pressure anyway and all the water causes a problem with that. Your suggestion of using the flax as a coating on fish etc is a great idea.
  • Quote: If you want to have the flax seed daily I don't think it would be a problem. I was cautious with the bread because of the significant difference in added calories between 1 slice of bread vs 1tbsp ground flax.

I actually use to use the ground flax to "bread" my fish or chicken tenders. I would dip a piece of the protein in water or egg white and then drag through some ground flaxseed that I had mixed with salt, pepper, and spices. I would then quickly sear it in a hot skillet or bake it in the oven. It was a nice change and a good way to boost fiber in my diet.
That is a great idea, thank you

Congrats on being able to move 3 of your emoticons down by the way!

I'm glad you think the flax seed is good! It really is nice. I did it with a little (1 oz) of the 0 carb grated parmesan cheese added into the mix while I was on maintenance (the period where I was doing well, not the slip up period ). It made a real nice parmesan chicken that way.

If I pan "fried" it I had to be careful not to get the pan to hot or the flax would burn.

Thanks Yvette! I still have aways to go but, I am proud of making progress.
  • Have made the flax bread with ham and low fat cheese in it before it's delicious
  • bump
  • Must try this
  • Has anyone else tried this?
Bumping because i'm very interested in making this!

I used to blend flax seed into my smoothies before I started IP, so I still have some in the freezer. Love the idea of making it into a bread/muffin. Was always curious about that since the fiber is equal to the carbs mostly.

I don't really snack and also don't use any restricted items, do we think it would be okay to add this a few times a week? Thank you in advance for insight!
