Just so you ladies have a visual here because I have no photos posted of me - okay, imagine if you morphed Kate Gosselin with Gwyneth Paltrow - that's pretty close to what I currently look like. They are both ectomorphs like myself so definitely not curvy by my estimates. Skinny? Maybe but lean is what I prefer, lol.
I asked a personal trainer once what I could do to develop more curves and he said I should work on my glutes. NOT!! That would equal my jeans not fitting. I've come to the conclusion that I can diet, run and lift weights until I'm blue in the face and at the end of the day, I will NEVER EVER BE CURVY. It's just not the way God designed me, lol.
It's interesting to me because the media portrays the picture of these super-slim women but men all say they prefer curvy. So by the media's standards, I'm the ideal body type. According to guys, I'm a little light on the curves. What's that about?
I remember the first time I figured out I didn't really have much of a waist. I saw Valerie Bertinelli in the blue bikini in that Jenny Craig commerical. I was floored when I saw how cinched in her waist was compared to her bust and hips. Up until that point, I thought (stupidly) that most women had waists similiar to mine: slightly cinched in. I'm not kidding (I so need to get out more). I went into the bathroom, stripped down to my underwear and bra and almost cried. I, in no way, shape or form looked like Valerie - not by a long-shot. It was disheartening to say the very least.
But in all honesty, how curvy could I expect to be with my current measurements which are: 33-25.5-32? Not exactly the stuff a guys dreams are made of, lol. I would be seriously kidding myself.
Thank God my husband doesn't expect me to look like Kim Kardashian because he would be seriously disappointed, lol. He always tells me that he loves me just the way I am and says I'm perfect for him.
How's this for a short answer? I just want to look like me only fitter and healthier. Sorry for the long-winded post.
