  • Quote: where did you find the 100% brown sugar splenda? I have only seen the blended 1/2 & 1/2 and it has 2 gm sugar and 2 gms carbs for 1/2 teaspoon. The rhubarb crisp is so good, but now I can't use the blended splenda with the oatmeal, I just put some cinnamon with the oatmeal and sprinkle over the stewed rhubarb.
In Safeway this past Sunday...just happened to check to see if there was anything interesting as I just found the French Vanilla and Hazelnut Splenda and saw this box of 'brown sugar splenda'. I was like "WOW COOL" and double triple checked the nutritional information. No sugar... So I'm going to pick up an oatmeal packet tomorrow at WI and try the crisp.

Just watch for it I guess.
  • I've been using the Good Seasons Italian in the shaker. It's only 1 carb per serving. I do eat a salad with lunch and another with dinner so I alternate the Good Seasons with WF balsamic which I actually like. I just got the WF sesame ginger in the mail and I'm looking forward to trying that on a cabbage chicken salad. Fortunately, I love salad and the lettuce in my garden is growing well. I don't know how you could make it through this diet if you didn't like the veggies.

Thanks so much, Safeway here I come.
  • I am not a salad eater by nature..i have major issues with texture...however.. i do get my 4 cups of veg in via cooked veggies.. i find when soft and mushy....the texture doesnt bother me..

Also..i like just romaine lettuce and i make a faux ceasar salad with just the lettuce and dressing.. In fact the other day.i ordered a ceasar salad at a restraunt without the crutons and cheese and the man next to us overheard me talk to the waiter and laughed.. i think he thought i was nuts for pretty much just ordering lettuce and dressing..
  • salads
I eat a big salad once a day. I have to admit I am getting tired of the WF dressing. I really like Italian mixed with apple cider vinager and salt and pepper. But eating that day after day, it's kinda getting to me....
  • The only dressing I like is the bacon one.. I think I'm going to try the good season packet ones.
  • I bought and threw out all the WF dressings, just too much chemical aftertaste. I do however carry the individual WF Italian in my purse for emergency only. I also use the Good Seasons and use white vinegar & EVOO and it is very good.

Back to your question, I eat a salad every day for lunch and at least 4 times a week for dinner.
  • ok this may be a dumb question but i use squeezed lemon or lime over my lettuce for my "dressing" is this allowed??? also... how do you measure cups of veggies do you need to blend them? or can you just measure whole broccoli or celery? Thanks for the help!
  • I have been eating half a normal bag for lunch and the other half for dinner for the last week. I find that my losses are bigger but I have had a hard time eating it all lately. I can eat it no problem if I make something like buffalo chicken salad or cut up my dinner protein and make a salad out of it. I have found I LOVE, LOVE franks wing sauce as a dressing. It is very low cal if any and no carb, sugar or fat.
  • Quote: I've asked this in the daily chat before but it was weeks ago and there are lots of newbies since then. So, who eats salad of some sort at lunch and dinner? Who eats it at one only? Who doesn't even eat it everyday?

I was in the once a day club for the first 3 weeks and then maybe 3 times a week and now I have to admit I haven't even had any kind of lettuce, spinach, anything in my house in over a week. I think I OD'd on it.

So, give me good easy ways to get it in without having WF dressing because I can't handle much of any of them anymore. I think tonight I'll have a salad with chicken breast chunks and WF creamy bacon because that is one I can do (but only with chicken for some reason) in small quantities.

I like big leaves of lettuce (romain) as bread for a tuna sandwich or turkey breast sandwich but had one whole bag go bad and that ruined it for me for awhile.

What do you do to get in your lettuce?
Hi there, have you tried the mixed greens or even the mixed baby greens? I buy the big containers that are pre washed and ready to serve. I go through one of those every 2-3 days since I have salad at lunch and dinner. I also love, LOVE dressing it with fresh lemom juice and my olive oil!
I also have tried all the restricted chips...the white cheddar, salt & vinegar and my favorite, the BBQ ridges! These are great tossed in the salad at lunch and give the salad the crouton crunch that many like.
I also get my veggies in raw by adding broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, etc...all from the list.

This is what works for me....even my hubby who has not typically liked salads loves the mixed green variety. ( forgot to mention that I also add in spinach and arugula)

my coach says lemon and lime is allowed!
  • I eat a salad everyday at lunch and dinner. It is how I get my 4 cups in, as I am not a huge "cooked veggies" eater. I also cannot stand any low cal, low fat dressings, so I get my EVOO requirements in by making real dressing to eat on my salads. I also use the Good Seasons dressing packet and make it the "less oil" way. It is real Italian dressing, I get my EVOO requirement in AND I get my veggies in. A win-win-win in my book.

I love Good seasons too. Sometimes I use apple cider vinegar and sometimes rice vinegar. I also add more water and less EVOO.
