  • This happens to me all the time!!! i gain a few, but i find it takes about a week for my body to adjust to all the sodium that had been eaten and heavy carbs. Just drink a lot of water and get yourself back on track, it will come off.

That is how life is, to be able to maintain or whatever you need to realize its going to happen... Often. But the goal of losing or maintaining is just getting you're self back in the saddle if you didn't get back in it, then you should be worried.
  • It's okay, we have to live! But with that said, I know how you feel. I feel the same exact way right now. We are at the lake for the weekend and all I have been doing is eating crappy food! I am eating some what good too, but, I'm eating candy, cookies, macaroni and cheese. UGH! I am afraid to step on the scale when we get home.

To comment on a previous post, if we eat 1,500 extra calories per week, this causes us to gain 1 pound. True, we need to either decrease our caloric intake by 500 per day, OR....we can work out to burn 500 per day and we'll loose weight.

So ....we need to burn off 1,500 calories to loose 1 pound, the right, healthy way.....you will be right back to where you were before your trip. It sounds like you dont go off your routine very much, so I beleive you'll be fine!

You did so good so far!!! I wish I weigh as little as you do right now!
I feel like a big looser because I cant even loose 15 pounds and here you lost 35 pounds so far!!!
So you are doing really great!!! HATs off to you!
  • Just a clarification: It's 3500 calories to gain or lose a pound of weight, not 1500. Thus, you are right that if you eat 500 calories a day less you than burn, that works out to 1 pound (500*7=3500 calories).
  • I just came back from a three day trip as well, and I was up about three pounds. But it's already just MELTING back off, because most of it was water weight and such. Don't even worry about it. Just stay back on track!

That is the first time I have ever had someone say to me that they wished they weighed as little as I do. o_O I think I spent so much of my life being severely obese that it still comes as a shock that MY weight is something someone might actually strive for.

That said: you can do it. We've all been where you are right now, right at the beginning of the journey thinking "There's no way I can do this, it's too much, I'll never be able to lose it." I know that I was there only six months ago. I did it, and you'll do it too, if you're willing to put in the work. And it's so worth it in the end.
  • Snoofie, you're STARTING weight is something I aspired to when I started. I had to lose 90 pounds to get there.

you are right, that's what I meant to say!
