My husband does the same, I can't tell if it is intentional or not. He knows it annoys me, but I honestly think he doesn't notice the pattern of the clothes, just the item and its' functionality. I think it is as much an engineer thing as a man thing, with him

I'm colorblind, so I actually need my husband's help to insure that I'm not the one dressing funny. He actualy has more fashion sense than I do, but he also doesn't care what anyone is wearing. His idea of dressing up is black jeans and a henley tee (or for more formal occasions, maybe a rayon camp shirt instead of the henley).

Hey, your husband sounds nice and practical to me. Mine has his standard 'uniform' too, and it works well!

It's definitely NOT exclusively a "man thing." I consider myself very much "function over form" and don't see anything wrong with putting the baby in whatever is clean and fits. In my mind, there are bigger worries in life.

Hmmm, maybe that's why my sister will no longer let me pick out clothes for my nephews?

Thanks everyone. I got a really big kick out of it. AND it has become a learning experience. Either I specify to dress him in something that matches, or I pick the clothes out beforehand.

I still give him an 'A' for effort.

My mother in law dresses like that around the house all the time and she used to do that with the kids. hubby sometimes too. What I don't like about it is that usually (especially in little kids clothes) that shirt matches ONE THING and those striped pants matches ONE THING, so now you either have to dress them funny again, or wait for the wash to be done to wear either of those outfits again and taking out two outfits in a baby's clothing rotation is never a good idea as we know how fast they can go through their clothes!

If it makes you feel better that your guy is not the only one, I had mine meet me with the kids for karate (my daugter was maybe 5 then, not yet in kindergarten) since I was working late. She got out of the car with about a hundred barrettes in her hair, a pj top, a fancy xmas skirt, two different color socks up to her knees, high-heeled sandals, and fairy wings. Plus, eyeshadow and lip gloss courtesy of my makeup bag. To karate class. When he saw my face, he shrugged and said, "What? She wanted to dress herself."

It happens. Lol. They don't know any better.
