Question, is biotin included in a vitamin b complex pill? I was told to take vitamin b complex to help with hair and nail issues and I think it includes all of the b vitamins but maybe not enough of biotin? (WARNING POSSIBLE TMI) - I do know, that after I take the vitamin b complex I go to the bathroom and it is crazy yellow and I was told that this is because vitamin b is a water soluable vitamin and your body extracts whatever it doesn't need. Does anyone notice this taking biotin only?
It's a B vitamin, but it's not included in standard B complex pills because it's a lot more expensive. That said, I've read somewhere that if you want a lot of biotin, it's a good idea to have a lot of the other Bs as well. What doses are you on?
I've now discovered that high-dose biotin is good for ME/CFIDS, so I'm just going to increase the dose rapidly, back down if I start getting side effects, but hopefully get to 5mg once or twice a day.
Most B-complexes contain very little Biotin, but those those 2 are exceptions.
