  • I still have it at 176 pounds. So, I bought a special pillow to use for stretching and am doing some exercises that are supposed to help. I assume that fat loss will help, but I'm not counting on it. If you're interested in doing some exercises, google "forward neck position." There are quite a few youtube videos for stretches and exercises.

I haven't been doing them long enough to really see results (been about a week), but omg is my neck ever sore. lol
  • I believe this is related to high cortisol. When I started taking herbs that lower cortisol like rhodiola and ashwagandha I could tell it started going away, even though I've had it at the same weight I am now in the past, I don't see it now.
  • melanie, i have to chime in that this is correct. High cortisol levels are associated with cushing like syndrome, and it is very common to have a fat pad at the back of the neck with this.
  • OP here, many months later, and I am happy to report that it's pretty much gone now that I am in the 180s! Woohoo!
  • I've never had this.. but DH has it and I always thought it was from his posture. Huh.
  • I have it as well and always assumed it was just from weight gain... I actually had it checked out years ago and they did some kind of scan, I cant remember if it was a CT scan or what but they said it was all fatty tissue and if I lost weight it would go down....
  • Mine disappeared around 230-240 pounds. The second I noticed it was gone, I started wearing my hair up more =D...
  • Congrats Baker
  • I think I was around 200 when it went... There's a muscle there now . I love me some lat pulldowns!
  • I don't know when I got mine..... but hopefully I will see a good difference in it once I start losing some weight... I am fully prepared to have it lipo'ed if I have to - its the one thing that people have actually commented on over the years... if by some fluke its still there when I reach goal weight I will have it dealt with by the pros, lol.
