  • Yeah, thinking about it now it does sound pretty funny. I was taken aback at the time though, because in my old office no one would care or even notice what anyone ate, and certainly no "feelings" would be involved. I kind of feel like I've reverted back to being in middle school or something.
  • Sigh. Today I was eating one of my snacks, which is string cheese and veggies, in a little bowl. Another coworker came by my office and said: "Is that your trough??" I looked at him like he had three heads, so he continued: "YOUR TROUGH!! You know, full of your horse feed!!"

Bear in mind I barely know this man, he's never come by my desk before, and I have certainly never said anything rude to him!

Why is eating broccoli so offensive?? And why do I have to turn down junk food pretty much every day here. I hated my old job, but one good thing about it was no one cared what I ate.
  • This earns an all caps "WTF" from me. If he does that again, you should whinny like a horse and make him as uncomfortable as he made you!
  • It was so rude I was in shock, didn't know what to do, so I kind of stared at him and turned back to my work. But I like the horse idea! Maybe I could gallop around the floor...
  • I probably would have done the same thing as you... stare at that man with a very confused look on my face for juuuuuuussssst long enough that it gets uncomfortable for him.

And then maybe fake a half smile with a "Ha." And turn back to my work.
