    The Results: I ordered a beach salad with dressing on the side and no candied pecans. I received a beach salad with candied pecans and dressing. And I ate it

    Luckily, I'd planned for this meal out as soon as I found out about it at lunch time, and it motivated me to resist other snacks, etc. My total calories for the day were still on target, even with all the dressing and the pecans.

    This is my number one pet peeve about eating out! I won't eat a salad anymore which has the dressing on it, although I'd certainly work around the pecans. That's why I mentioned above that I always give a second reminder...then if it comes with dressing I can very politely say that I do need it on the side. If I'm in a social situation, I'll even get up to wash my hands and catch the waitress on the way for the second reminder.

    For me, eating extra calories I didn't ask for anymore (not to mention saturated fats/bad oils,etc) and then paying big money just isn't acceptable...and btw I'm very gracious about it.

  • I have sent salads back that don't come as I ordered them. If I ordered it that way, that's the way I want it, and they need to fix it!
