Age is a factor too. When I first started, I could lose on 1700 - 1800 calories. Now I need to stay 1200 - 1300 to lose. Here is a day from my journal.

    Breakfast-
    3/4 cup Eggbeaters - 90 calories
Whole Wheat toast with light marg. - 63 calories

    Snacks-
    Carrots (6 oz) - 70
    Clementines (4) - 140
Laughing Cow cheese wedge - 35 calories
Keebler Townhouse Reduced Fat Crackers (9) - 90 calories

    Lunch-
    Chicken breast 4 oz - 130 calories
    Green beans - 25 calories
    Apple - 100 calories

    Dinner-
    chuck roast (4 Oz) - 226 calories
    White cabbage sauted 1 cup - 25
Birds Eye Normandy Blend vegetables - 25 calories

    Evening snack -
2 cups Hunts sugar free pudding - 140 calories
    popcorn - 100 calories

    Total - 1259 calories
  • Here's yesterday (I do a lot of rounding/estimating to keep myself sane)

B - 1/2 package of strawberries, fat free Greek yogurt (200 calories total)

L - huge salad - green leaf lettuce, crumbled veggie burger (100 calories), grape tomatoes, red cabbage, carrot shreddies, crispy onions (measured - 40 calories), 2 tbs salad dressing (measured - 70 calories), I just estimate 500 for my salad every day

    S - tangelo (100)

    S - tall skinny latte (100)

D - pork chop, big pile of steamed green beans (estimate 400 calories)
  • I am for 1300 to 1400 calories and I'm a vegetarian. I use a FitnessPal phone application to count calories and it keeps accountable. I eat an insane amount of Fage 0% greek yogurt. If they stopped making this stuff I would freak out. I'm 99% off processed foods and sugar and I don't eat fatty foods at all because once I start, I'll get a taste for them. I'm lucky in that I don't have food cravings and I'm not a pasta/bread addict, but I am hungry for several hours a day and it is very common to hear my stomach grumbling. I hate feeling hungry, but I've learned to live with it for hours at a time.

    Yesterday's Entry:

    Greek Yogurt - 120
Vanilla Soy Milk with Coffee - 25

    Wasa Crisp - 25
Laughing Cow Light Cheese Wedges - 70
    Greek Yogurt - 75
    Baby Red Potatoes - 300
    Cliff Bar - 250

    Greek Yogurt - 60
    Vegetable Soup - 120
Caramelized Onions (added to soup) - 400

    Total: 1445

I ate the onions before I realized how calorie intensive they were. Beware of caramelized onions...I cooked six onions with 1 tbs olive oil for 35 minutes and ended up with about 2 cups of caramelized onions. I added 3/4 cup to my vegetable soup - and it blew my calorie budget...but it was delicious.
