  • Hi everyone!

Karen - Pilates was great thanks! It is mat work, and was really basic because it's a beginner's course. I found it really relaxing but hard work at the same time. My boyfriend has been on at me for ages to do some strength work to counterbalance the running i do, and I finally see what he means now (he does yoga). I am definitely walking taller today :-)

Jasmine - I had the same thing when I gave up Diet Coke. I was addicted to it, but I worked out I could save up to €7 by not drinking it! It (along with all other junk food) is banned in our school, so I figured I should set a good example and not be seen drinking it in public

To everyone celebrating Shrove Tuesday / Pancake Day - lucky! We used to make pancakes at home and stuff ourselves silly, it was great! I introduced my Austrian friends to the concept of making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, they thought it was weird. Here they eat doughnuts and dress up. This year I'm not having a pancake party, for obvious reasons, and I thankfully managed to dodge the doughnuts in the teacher's room!

Dodging the doughnuts in the teacher's room was my biggest achievement for today. I also managed to cut down my nut intake (boo!). I can't help feeling a bit deprived, but it is for my own good! I managed to skype with my boyfriend and that has given me extra motivation. I want to stick to plan perfectly until he gets back so I can lose the last couple of pounds and surprise him :-)

Have a nice day everyone :-)
  • Wow, it's fat tuesday? I didn't realize that. Maybe I'll start tomorrow instead of today.

I really want to start today. Off to find the parameters of phase one and figure out what I'm eating today. You'd think it would be easy to eat healthy at work when you work at a grocery store, but it's not. Especially when you work no more than 12 feet away from the hot case.
  • Wow, I popped back in to do personals while my kiddos are busy, but there are way too many for me to catch up with in this short time. I did enjoy reading all your posts though.

Sharona, I spent 30+ years as a stress eater. But now I'm a stress exerciser. At home I tie on my sneakers and either walk outside or on my treadmill, as fast as I can, pumping my arms and muttering a mile a minute. It works though! It's a little harder at school but I've been known to skip my lunch and walk around the parking lot. It took a while to make myself shift gears but I'm so glad that I have. Not only do I get the benefit of extra exercise but I end up tired out and sleep better, too. LOL
  • HI! Just quick fly-by again. Busy as always. Hopefully I'll be able to post more later!

    Have a great day!

    Lisa
  • Matilda, your on a roll gathering us together in the morning. Sorry your folks are backing off from going to the specialist. I know I don’t understand their situation but being a “senior citizen” myself, I know how important my independence is to me at this point in my life. I also remember how hard it was for me to find the time to care for my parents when I had a busy family of my own plus was working full time and I promised myself that I would never ever put that “sandwich” situation on my own children. Right now I have my daughter pushing me to do a follow up with my cardiologist and I’m dragging my feet only because I don’t feel it’s necessary. I know she only wants what is best for me and I will probably end up going . So just be patient with them, it may just take them a little longer than you would like.
Ruth, shower doors are so much better than a wet old flapping curtain. Good for you and Paul figuring it out.
Cottage, Sending your way to resist the pumpkin break (which I too love by the way).
Cyndi, we all have to learn the lesson of making ourselves our number one priority. Not an easy lesson to learn.
Claire, congrats on dodging the food porn. Way to go.

Just got back from a great walk. Sun is out and feels so good. Got to visit with my neighbor who is fussing with the beavers who are building unwanted dams in his pond’s overflow. Several trees are now in full bloom and the daffadils are popping up everywhere.

Well time to get off here and get the rest of my day going. Hoping we all have the to make it through today on plan.
  • Hi all, have you seen my family anywhere? Just got home from work and the house is empty, no note. The Dominos Pizza website is up on the computer, but as we are a one-car family and I had the car, don't know how they could've gotten there. Oh well, guess they'll turn up eventually!

Long day, not Catholic, so not eating pancakes or giving anything up. At least I did not come face to face with any faschnats! Ready for bed already.
  • What a nice day outside! Plans have a way of changing when least expected. Instead of my planned meals, DH wanted to go to Jimboy's so along I went and ate about 1/3 of a bean taco salad and brought the rest home. Had iced tea with artificial sweetener to go with it. Not bad. Then when we got home, we went for a walk and since he walks so much faster than I, we ended up covering a lot of ground even if it was only for about twenty minutes. Two walks in one day... Felt good.
  • Hi Chickies

Back from getting my grandson and a trip that was suppose to take 6hrs took 13 and the little bugger never closed his eyes. Did I mention that I flew in one day and out the other. Took a lot out of me. He is pretty good but I don't even have a chance to sip water wonder what that will do to me weight loss. The only problem is that he cries himself to sleep every night and I cry with him. All he keeps saying is I want my mom here now. Can't wait till Sunday when my DD and DH arrive.
    take care
    Sophie
