  • Quote: I tried eating 1000 calories for one month, in July.
Since then I upped my calories a little.
I didn't lose eating more and I didn't lose eating less.
    That's what I call stuck.
    That's what I call
Maintenance...(if you are near your goal weight),
or a Plateau...(if you are still trying to go lower).

    From a Maintenance viewpoint,...

IF I am not losing by eating less,
and I am staying the same by eating more.

Then I choose the option of eating more..because I like eating.

But the minute my weight begins to climb,
or when I gather up the courage to make another run at weight-loss,
I'll change options, and eat less.
  • Uber, I'm afraid I don't have much advice to offer about entering maintenance as I was lucky that my weight has continued to come off, granted in fits and starts, up to this point. However I'm entering maintenance now because I am happy with where I am, but would ideally like to lose another few pounds if my body is willing, to give me some room for maneouvre.
But I just wanted you to know that I'm here for you and if you want to pm me anytime please feel free, I'd love it if we could help eachother, be it maintaining or losing a few more pounds.
  • Thank you all for your advice. I was at the gym last night working out, and I was watching myself in the dreaded mirrors and thinking about the chub that I still carry around my middle and I realized the truth.

I would like to try life in the NORMAL range.

I think a combination of factors caused my stall-- but probably primarily the increased stress and changed lifestyle that came from the huge upheaval of moving and changing jobs.

I lost about 30 pounds in 2010. I'm going for 30 more in 2011. That would get me into the 150s, my high school weight, and I think I should be good to go!
