I'm with "oboegal" on the changing my mindset from I HAVE TO to I WANT TO, it made a huge difference! I was a "no i'm not going to do what anyone tells me" kinda gal (even if it was ME doing the telling lol) so it helped a lot.
I'm not a strictly 'low fat' person either, except for milk i guess (1% instead of 2%) as most of them are misleading, yes they're low fat but they jack the sugar up so much what's the difference? I'm a calorie counter, pure and simple. Can't beat MATH! And you learn quickly enough how to get the biggest bang for your buck, but i also like knowing that if i absolutely have to have a day where i eat cheesecake for dinner (heh don't do that any more) I CAN, because i count the calories in it and work it in.
