Good morning everyone! It is a cold and chilly election day here in Memphis. I don't expect it to warm up much either. I am a little late getting in here but I have been cleaning house, checking on deliveries, and eating breakfast.
My yarn finally shipped so it should be here tomorrow because it comes from South Bend. I ordered all of Jackson's Christmas presents and all I have to do is get him his socks made then he is done except picking up some stocking stuffer stuff. If they come down here like they said we will give it to him at Thanksgiving, if not, I will just ship him the stuff. He is moving into big boy toys, dvds, cds, games and such now.
I noticed in the paper this morning my best friend in high school's mother in law passed away. She was 90 though. My friend and I haven't spoken in 20 years. Last time I saw her was in a mall in Indiana and she was with her mom and sister. She doesn't have a computer or email or such. I wrote her a letter a couple weeks ago but never heard back from her. She still lives in North Liberty and has always been sort of behind the times. I didn't even know her son was married and she had a granddaughter until I saw his facebook page and asked him to have her contact me. Ahh well no big deal. I really only keep in touch with my very best friend who lives in South Bend and we have been friends since we were 13 and a friend I met at the law firm. Then I keep in touch from time to time with a bunch of gals from the firm. I need to make plans to have lunch with them all when I am in town next time I guess.
Maggie: It was easy as pie to get the phone disconnected. Just called them. My only concern was 911, but from what I understand my cell has 911just because it isn't a land line, doesn't show where I am when I make the call. I can deal with that. We don't rent movies off our directtv and don't have a dvr so don't need a land line for either of them. Cuts my phone bill by about 60% though, which is nice.
Jean: Boy, I am losing it. I didn't even mention Jackson just posted his picture! I am sure Bob will know him if you don't, but Digger Phelps (he is a well known ex coach at Notre Dame and he does ESPN basketball now) only lives a block from Jay and Alicia. Alicia said he didn't even give out candy on Halloween. Jay says he acts like a jerk to his neighbors and doesn't wave or speak when he sees them on the street even. Jackson is old enough to understand Halloween better so he had a lot of fun I guess. I was disappointed the lasagna wasn't better because them make this steak marsala that is to die for. I should have just opted for that as it is what I always get! Dumb me.
Susan: Hope you are having a good day today.
I think Fortune got into something out back again. He made a mess in the dining room. He didn't eat this morning either so guess will have to give him a bit of pepto to make him feel better. I wish I could prevent this, but unless every time he goes out I stand out there and walk around with him I can't. I keep the deck cleaned of anything I see and it is a small area. Ahh well. I noticed the poor little guy is having more and more breathing problems too. Not inability to breathe, more like snoring and such. His tongue hangs out more too, which seems to me to help him breathe a bit better. He is nearly 11 so he is getting old. Don't know what I will do when he dies. Too horrible to think about.
I better go. He has disappeared from the living room! Have a good Tuesday. Faye

I like the fact that you can change the flavors if you want by taking out the little bottle and capping it for future use because I might get tired of the same old flavor until it is all gone.
We don't need a land line to order movies to come direct to our TV. It is trick and they are just about instantly there when we want one. We keep some in the waiting area so just click on the TV screen the movie we want that is in our list and it loads. Will fills the list from his computer. We keep blue ray kind in the waiting area.
It is sad that Fortune is feeling poorly now. It is good that he has a mommie like you to take care of him though.
The associate pastor is still gone on her honeymoon planning to be back in town Friday night. The funeral today was a 44 old guy with a muscle degenerative disease of some sort. The next funeral, the lady who volunteered in the church office, is Thursday morning with a lunch to follow. A young mother, 44, who had ALS died and her funeral is going to be Thursday afternoon, in the auditorium at the college with lunch afterwards at the church. The really sad part is that her 11 year old daughter found her dead in bed. She taught in a small nearby town and they have cancelled school for the day. We are fixing food for 150+ at noon and 375/400 late afternoon. I may offer to man the office so everyone can go to the morning funeral and will work at the afternoon lunch as well as make a salad and a pan of bars. I'm hoping Friday is a FREE day!
I decided not to donate blood today. I just wasn't in the mood and what I wore, long sleeved turtleneck, would be a pain to work around. Perhaps next month won't be so busy. Is your new water filter one that attaches to your faucet or in a pitcher? I've not seen the flavored kind which is a novel idea.
Do you have the link for "all" the crockpot recipes?
I wanted a bottle of Fantastic the other day and they don't carry that either!

Ok, ok I fess up this yarn is 2 strands of cashmere and one of washable wool/nylon but why would you not want to make $75 socks!!!!
You were just doing what you thought best for your main squeeze. I am so happy for you that your yarn came and you are happy with it.
