  • Albino - WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME - like Rat said just jump right in! So glad to have you here. These are such an awesome group of chicks - they listen - they are wise - and they kick me in the seat when I need that too! I see you are from Missouri - me too!

Rat - hugs to the goofy golden! You're such a good mama!

Annie - Molly is one lucky pup to have you, Joel and Moose to call family.

Neon - wow the time has flown - seems like you were just moving. Great job!

Cyn - did you get the big storm earlier this week - friends of ours had extreme damage - every window in their house broken from hail.

Feels so good to have my exercise in the the day even though I woke up late (Gracie the lab alarm clock must be out of sync). Walked to and from water class and a session with my trainer! Now to tackle the day without the weight looming!

Trying a new chicken enchilada soup recipe this weekend! I love soup but get tired of the same old same old. I'll let you know how it is with it's secret ingredient.
  • Hiya my Peeps!

GGG, my goofy goldenboy, Charley, is now wearing one of my tank tops. He's so cute in it, even if he hates it. The abcessed lipoma still looks icky. He keeps licking at it through the shirt, but at least he's not licking the antibiotic cream off. He's on 2 strong oral antibiotics that have him feeling punky. Poor boy. I won't let him outside to play in the backyard either. Next Wednesday, we go back to the vet and schedule the surgery to get rid of the thing.

I'm not doing so good with getting my protein and need to get back in the groove of it. Still doing well with taking my vitamins and iron. I'm losing about 1 lb a week on average.

    Hugs to all!
    Ratkity
  • Rat - my protein is hovering around 100 g. Great job releasing a pound a week - I'm working my tail off and not losing a thing - looking for a Battelesque whoosh. I've been walking 3 miles/day plus the regular classes I get - may need a few more calories over the weekend.
  • Hello, New Here
Hello everyone, I am new to this site. I have my first appointment with MRC next week and I feel really excited. I recently had a baby and just returned back to work. I did not lose much of my baby weight and with me already being over 350lbs that really pushed me over 400lbs. I feel desperate and depressed. I need to be around for my children. Any advice about MRC or anything would be appreciated.

  • Welcome Trinett!

Congratz on the baby! I don't know what MRC is.. I'm figuring a diet center.

Hang in there during the depression stuff. That can be especially hard right after a baby too. Being pro-active with food stuff will help some, but don't let it get out of hand.

Like I told Albino, just jump in here with both feet. Tell us how the kiddos are doing or how you are feeling.

    Hugs,
    Ratkity
  • Aloha Everyone,

First time posting figured id just jump in!

Yesterday was our weigh in day, by our i mean my mom and I. I told her that I wanted to get healthy so she is trying to help me. Yesterday we were in the car and i told her i lost 6.6lbs that week. and she was proud She sounded disappointed when she told me she had gained (she didnt have to tell me I never ask) So we were trying to figure out what she did that I didnt. Well last week was a crazy week for her work schedule or it was raining so we didnt do our 2mile walk together everyday like we have been doing, but i told her i was still exercising by myself in the house. And Then she goes OH! i know what it was. and im like what mom? I snacked out every night with your sister when she got home from work.

She starts listing all the things she snacked on. My sister gets home at 10pm every night during the week so they sit in front of the tv, chit chat and veg out. As she was describing this i start busting up laughing and she goes what??? and I'm like so the 3lbs loss from last week made you think you could take the week off? and shes like OMG!! I took the week off. She started laughing too. So it became a running joke with her telling me I'm not taking this week off.

We went on our walk yesterday I had bought a 10lb ankle weight, 5lbs for each. Wow. I definitely felt that. Have you guys ever tried those?
  • Hi all,

Carol: Hugs and I'm glad that you got your exercise in too. Thanks for the comments about Molly being with a good home.

Rat: I am so, so sorry about your loss of your kitty. Glad that you have a new Mr. Bossman though. So happy that he doesn't live at the vet's anymore. He is one lucky guy Praying your Goldie will get better very soon.

Neon: Good luck and blessings with your move hon.

Albino: Welcome. I hope that your mom does well recovering from her surgery Glad you are here.

    Trinette: Welcome

Revamp: Congrats on losing 6.6 last week. Glad that you have your mom for a buddy to get healthy.

I am okay today. Up most of the night with chest pains so I am sleepy today. I gave Moose and Molly a bath today and boy did they need it. Molly does so well in the tub and Moose did wayyyy better in the tub then he does in the shower when Joel gives him a shower. Maybe something about it being open and not all glassed in? I don't know. Any way, I am going to try to post a picture of my new sweet baby girl. Molly and maybe one of Moosie too. He is 83 pounds now and 10 months old!!! Big boy

The first picture is the day we brought Molly home. The 2nd picture is of her and Moose on our bed. You can really see she is brindle in that one. The 3rd photo is of my sweetheart Moosie the labradoodle that looks all lab and sheds like one too

    Blessings all,
    Annie

  • Annie - great pics! I've heard that when a dogs sleeps like Moose is in the second one it is a sign of contentment - Moose is content!

Welcome Revamp and Trinette - look forward to getting to know you.

  • Welcome Revamp!

Glad you just jumped in and talked about yourself. Glad you have a partner in this journey. I could never lose weight with my mom because she would unwittingly sabatoge me. At first, I thought she did it on purpose, but then I realized she was doing some mommy-nuture thingie.

OMG Annie, what a CUTIE-PIE! Moose and her look so happy asleep on your bed. I'm hoping the chest pains weren't too serious because you were over-doing things. I know they are a bane in your life. Charley is 85 lbs, so I know how big Moose really is. It's sad when Charley looks better in my tank top than I do lol. Bossman was supposed to be put to sleep after his owner died and someone taking care of him said that he bit them. The vet saw how sweet of a kitty that he was and gave him shots, neutered him and kept him until he got adopted.

I just sliced up some very hot peppers (serrano, hungarian wax, habanero, jalapeno) and put them in an italian marinade. They'll stay that way for 2 weeks and then I'll can them. Of course, my hands still got pepper oil on them, despite glove precautions!! Must leave eyes alone.. stop rubbing nose. ugh!

    Hugs to all,
    Ratkity
  • Boss watching Buford, the parrot. I was on the phone when he did this. I scooted him out quickly, but got a picture. LOL.

  • Carol: Yep, I say Moose is content especially at night when he is snuggled up to Joel and I am mushed at the edge. lol. Molly right next to him. It's the best.

Rat: I'm soo glad that you got the kitty now. Heart is okay. Just been giving me fits lately. I cracked up about your comment of Charley looking better than you in your tank top. I bet that isn't true. lol. Cute pic!

I'm off to watch a scary movie. I love them unless they are demonic then I can't do it. Vampire movies are my fav. I especially love "30 Days Of Night".

    Blessings all,
    Annie
  • GGG- Sure am from ol' MO. lol I live in the north east portion. (Originally from IL)

Revamp- Gratz on the lose. I have/had the ankle weights. (To be quite honest, I dunno if I still have them or not. lol) I liked them, but they were a bit cumbersome. All the same, keep up the good work!

Annie- I love your dogs, they look like cuties!

Rat- Hope all goes well with Charley. I'm sure him in the tank top was adorable.

Went garage sale'n with one of my besties. We were hard core, starting at 6:30. lol We got a good few deals and had a lot of laughs. Bought my niece some toys and outfits. And got my twin nephews some clothes and baby food. (unopened and within expiration, of course)
I was so tired I took a long nap. Haven't been that active in a while. (How sad is that? lol)
  • Annie GREAT to see you back, love the photos. Sorry you are still getting heart problems.xxxxx
Ratkitty, WHAT A PICTURE!!! Buford is cute & I'd bet he gives Boss a hard time if he tried anything. xxxxx
I'm still in pain from my tooth, my Dad was rushed in hospital, heart stopped, then let out then rushed in again late last night. My weight shot up, but I'm hoping it's from eating carbs when normally I'm low carb. I'm back @OP as of today, I can manage food rather than soup or noodles and gaining won't help me feel any better will it?
Our new dog Rolo is a joy, he's been so good and really lights up my day. I'll try & post a small pic on here. I have to clean the bathroom now, it's been 2 weeks (or more! since I cleaned it.. the shame)

  • Sharon,

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad and his heart troubles. I wonder if they will implant a defibrillator in him to prevent this from occurring.

I didn't know you got a new doggie too! Rolo is beautiful! Those types of dogs are illegal to own in my county. Too many people were fighting them.

Charley (goldenboy) is still miserable, but able to eat sausage and hotdogs. He gets a half a hotdog when I medicate him. The jealous Buffy gets the other half. The antibiotics are upsetting his tummy for his normal food. I can't wait until this thing is out of him. For the first time, the lump looks better this morning. phew. It's not the size of a tennis ball, but looks like a swollen golf ball.

I'm so exhausted because I'd wake up hearing Charley trying to lick through the tshirt and telling him to stop. He'll stop if I tell him to, but then he'll start up again 5 min later. Silly dog.

Sharon, have you thought about maybe seeing someone for your stress while your dad is going through hospitalizations? That might help with the stress eating. It's helped me when things were going to hades in a handbasket here.

    Hugs,
    Ratkity
  • Hi lovelies! In preparing for my Thanksgiving dinner (everything is prepped and ready to go, just a matter of timing it all) I wanted to make sure I popped on here and told you all just how thankful I am to have you as a support system. I'll never know if I'd have made it to this point without you, I suspect it would have been a slower and less enjoyable process, so thank you thank you thank you for listening and sharing and encouraging and all the other wonderful things you've all done for me! I love you all

Rat - So glad Charley's doing a bit better! Those babies must love all the sausages and hot dogs they're enjoying lately! I hope he gets better quickly... and who knows, he may come to love wearing your clothes so much it becomes a permanent fashion statement!

Sharon - I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's health! You and your family are definitely in my thoughts. Rolo is a cutie, is he adjusting well to life with your family? You had said before that he was fitting in well, and very affectionate, and I hope that's still the case!

Albino - I LOOOVE garage sales! I miss going to them so much. I'm on kind of a purchase hiatus while I live in Thunder Bay because everything I buy has to be packed into suitcases and moved home, or shipped... It's nice for my wallet, but not much fun!

Annie - Your pups are so cute! My family's dogs (two Australian shepherds, and my sister's Bernese/Border Collie) sleep like that too, sprawled right out, so content and secure! So cute.

    Revamp & Trinett - Welcome!

GGG - Funny, everyone says that... how time has flown. I think it's different for the person who does the moving! I feel like every day has made a mark, and I'm so relieved that there's a countdown to getting back to my family (24 days!). It's been fun up here though, and I think that will make coming back in January a bit easier!

If you're celebrating the holiday, Happy Thanksgiving. If you're not, happy weekend! Talk to you all soon!
