I swear by "Mozo Shoes" for daily wear. They are marketed to people who stand all day, (I don't) but I love that they're laceless. Just pop them on, pop them off. I've had people meet me in an elevator, look at my feet and say "Those look comfortable". Yeah, they are!

I bought a pair of these and they threw my pelvis out of alignment. The way they work is to create instability so your muscles have to work harder to compensate. I have pelvic stability issues so that's probably why they were disasterous for me.

I bought a pair of the Shape-Ups and they are so comfortable they make me want to walk everywhere. I've started walking back and forth to the office (about 45 minutes each way). I'm walking more because of them, so yes, they work!

Dar- I am going to have to look up those Mozo shoes. I have never heard of them.

I have tried the Reebok toning shoes as the don't have that big sole like the other brands, but honestly, I am happier, and have more shapely calves from wearing just plain Nike Shox running shoes and focus on having a heavier heel strike when I walk in them.

This summer, I may try the Sketchers flip flops as I love getting shoes!

I just bought a pair of the reebok easytone. Ive only worn them a few times so far but they are the most comfortable pair of tennis shoes i have ever worn right out of the box. I like this brand as it does not have a super high sole like sketchers. I just think they look funny. The easytone are very cute and very comfy!

I have the sketchers and like other people in this thread I love them for their comfortability!

I also like the kind of "moon shoe" look they have (I own those horribly obvious early versions that practically scream at everyone to notice them).

Sometimes I think I feel the burn in my legs but I suppose it could just be placebo, or my walking more bc they are comfortable.

Nevertheless, I am a mild endorser.

I noticed Zappos had some skechers shape-ups for under $50. I don't stand on my feet all day though but if you do, might be worth looking at.

I couldn't do the Skechers.... too much money right now, but a couple of months ago I got a pair of Bass Earth. They were around 40.00.
I get the idea that they put you slightly out of balance, so that your legs work a little more, but I haven't noticed any real difference, and when I am actually working out, I use my new balance running shoes. I am okay with the ones I have.
My sister got some skechers for Christmas though and I have been meaning to get a report.

I bought a pair of MBT's a few years ago. I stepped down on them wrong and severely sprained my ankle! They have not come out of the closet since. Which is fine with me really, as they are not the most attractive shoes.

I bought fit flops two years ago not to tone, but because a friend told me they really helped her aching feet. I buy a new pair each year, and love them - they have great cushioning. My MIL still thinks it's a hype I'm following, but I never thought they would help me get in better shape. Just perspective, I guess.

I work at a shoe store and I always feel so guilty selling the fitness shoes to customers because I don't believe they work. It is good to know they are comfortable though at least that is a plus.

I had a friend who's brother in law is a ciropractor and he says those shoes are horrible for your back. other than that, I dont know.

Im actually a health promotion/pre pt major and we did an experiment on these shoes for a research project. Theres a ton of stuff out there on it but this is what we found.
The shoes are great for join pain and balance (but can throw you off balance/cause injury)
As for do they were tone? Not really. There was no more muscle activity while wearing the shoes than without BUT the shoes work as almost motivation to get up and move. Some people may be looking for a quick fix but 99% know that simply wearing these shoes on the couch isnt going to help. The idea that if walking about in these shoes will help tone the legs and gluts gets people to walk around more, which is turn does aid in fitness. Our study found that it wasnt the shoes, though.

NickyJ - I have back problems and the shoes have not helped or hurt my back in anyway. Not to nitpick, but a fourth person complaint doesn't hold much weight in my mind, LOL
