  • I have this totally unscientific theory about pregnancy and boobs, which is that the people who were not that big to start with and wouldn't mind keeping a little bit extra are the ones who go back down to their pre-pg size or even smaller while the ones who were big to start with and would happily give up a little bit are the ones who get bigger with pg and then stay bigger.

Unfortunately, I think this little theory may apply to weight loss too, and that women who wouldn't mind losing a little on top are the ones who end up keeping it all and vice versa! lol!!

Of course, that's speaking as a woman who would gladly give up a bit of boobage but expects that I probably won't unless surgery is involved. (I mean, yes, I know there is some shrinkage in that my 42DDs are slightly smaller than the 44DDs were, but I'm guessing I'll still be in a somethingDD when I'm finished losing.

Yes. This is quite true from what I have seen and experienced. Sigh.

D-->DD(kid1)-->F/G (kid 2) with nursing stops along the way as high as J. J. What the heck is a J? I'll tell you, it is a DDDDDDD . Fully weaned, down 60lbs and what do I wear? a DD or an F. Sigh.

I would so get a reduction (and a lift because what I have now is enough material for C/D somehow dispersed in DD containers) if it didnt mean I would have to stop running for several weeks.
  • Quote: Remember, cup size is based on band size, so if your band size has gone down but your cup has stayed the same (i.e., 36C to 34C) your breast tissue actually has decreased. A 34C has the same cup volume as a 36B, and so on. .
Wait, so the number is for the band and the letter for the cup??
I wear a 34B, but the band is a little loose, would that mean I need to go to a 36A?
I never understood how the sizes worked :|

Anyway, I used to think my boobs were a little too big, but I wanted them smaller, so they were never that big at all, and they've deflated...they loook good in a bra (just any normal underwire/non-underwire), but otherwise...meh
I'm still young though, so I dont have much to worry about, but I'm sure yours will contniue to shrink
  • megan,
if the band is big, meaning boobs coming out under the cup, go down an band size to a 32 and possibly up a cup size to a C.
  • Yeah I'd go to a 32 B or C if I was you.
  • If the band is loose on a 34 you are probably a 30 or 32 but 30's are nearly impossible to find outside a specialty store.
  • check out herroom and Barenesesities. both are excellent and reliable
  • I went from a DD to a B/C I am really in between lol hate it!
  • I've had no change in mine, which is good and bad. I've lost 26 pounds and I'm still a 40DD, I bought some D cup bras and their a little too tight still. I would be happy with just a single D when I'm done all this, I feel the smaller my boobs are the skinnier I look. But I also fear they will just deflate one day

A 34C has the same cup volume as a 36B, and so on. Also, this may be a stretch, but when was the last time you were that small? Were you younger? When I was this size before (at about 16-18) I was in a 34B. This time around, I'm older and my body has matured, and I'm in a 34C.
My bra fitter reminded me of this when I was moaning about only dropping one cup size (H to GG) even though band size is down 8 inches. She told me the fact that the GGs were still fitting even though band size was down to 34 meant the breasts were decreasing at the same pace as ribcage.

But I'm still way too big for Victoria's Secret. Sigh. Just once I'd like to have a cute/fun bra instead of industrial strength.
  • I went from a 40 dd

    to a 38 or 36 DDD or sometimes a G.

It's really really really hard to find bras
  • I don't fit VS either, I need a 32 band and they don't have one for larger chest, Hard to believe that all those skinny models are all 34 band and bigger! they must do some serious pinning for the pictures
  • I went from a 40-42 D-DD (depending on cut); to a 36-38 DD-F At the moment I am wearing a 38 DDD from the same bra company I used to wear at my high weight. My breasts did "deflate" and physically shrink a bit, but I guess it wasn't a lot (it was more the deflating that made them seem less full, which for me a kinda bad). Oh, and ALL of the loss I have experienced in my breasts occurred early in the weight loss.
